Aussie Jack Miller stormed to victory in the Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez putting a miserable start to the 2021 MotoGP season behind him.
Miller steered the factory Ducati to the manufacturer’s first win at the circuit since 2006 – and Miller’s first win since 2016 at Assen.
The 26-year-old Queenslander had been under enormous pressure after two ninths at Qatar and a DNF at Portugal so far this year.

Miller and teammate Pecco Bagnaia completed a Ducati 1-2 followed by Yamaha star Franco Morbidelli.
Miller had burst into the lead at the first corner and led early from Fabio Quartararo. The Frenchman took the lead and looked set to blitz the field but he faded in the final 10 laps on the Yamaha with what appeared to be an arm injury.
It was a remarkable day for Australian riders with Remy Gardner taking the lead in Moto2 thanks to a fourth place.
