Alex Marquez walks away from insane crash in MotoGP qualifying
A scare was sent through the MotoGP grid after a horrifying crash during qualifying left fans and other riders stunned.

Spanish Grand Prix motorcycle racer Alex Marquez was lucky to walk away unhurt after a horrific crash in Valencia during the qualifying for the Moto GP.
The 24-year-old was thrown over the handlebars of his motorbike at high speed after misjudging a tight turn.

Landing on his coccyx first, he flipped onto his shoulder and then face as he skidded off the track.
Paramedics were immediately on hand to rush to Marquez‘s aide as the incident unfolded.
Incredibly though, the younger brother of eight-time world champion Marc Marquez was next seen walking away from the track – seemingly unhurt – from the horror moment.
He was taken to hospital and was diagnosed with a bone marrow oedema in the capitate bone of his left hand and will return to the track for warm up before deciding if he can race or not.
KTM’s Brad Binder was directly behind Marquez at the crash. “S**t, it was quite hectic,” Binder said.
“It bit him so quickly, he was so early in the corner and that was a good indication that there was possibly a little bit of water down.
“I was really lucky that I decided to make a little left turn. If I just … It seemed it was already behind me and I decided to go left anyway.
“I think the bike would have probably landed on my handlebar or at least at the side of me, so I was quite lucky to walk away from that one with no issues.
“It was quite sketchy.”
The Repsol Honda man even returned to the track moments later after being catapulted from his motorbike.
It‘s not the first time Marquez’s life has flashed before his eyes on the track.
In fact, before the Valencia qualifying round he had suffered two successive crashes.
The rookie revealed beforehand he was hoping to finish the season as best he can.
“We have a lot of things to improve in view of the season finale,” Marquez revealed.
“I have to try and have more confidence with the bike and at the same time have a fast lap in qualifying.”
On Sunday, Marquez will start from 20th on the grid at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo.
Aussie Jack Miller will start from second on the grid.
But Joan Mir will be crowned MotoGP world champion with one race to spare if he can produce a top-three finish in the Valencia Grand Prix.
Suzuki’s Spanish rider returns to the scene of his maiden premier category success last Sunday with the title now his to lose.
That long-overdue MotoGP victory in the European Grand Prix gave the Mallorcan a 37-point lead in the riders standings with Valencia and then the final race in Portugal to come.
