Tasmanian footy’s best forwards are making their mark in season 2024 and the tallies are going through the roof. See the leading players from across the state.

Tasmania's best forwards are kicking goals in droves this season.

Here’s a look at the leaders across Tasmania’s local footy competitions.

Aaron McNab, Sheffield (NWFA) – 113 goals

A dominant season for the ladder leader and looks well and truly on his way to triple figures.

Jalen Hayward, Motton Preston (NWFA) – 108 goals

Already has three double figure hauls to his name this season which has seen him rocket up the goalkicking charts.

Mitchell Burns, Sheffield (NWFA) – 84 goals

Has already more than doubled the 39 goals he kicked last season and could join his teammate in triple figures.

Jack Auton, East Ulverstone (NWFA) – 79 goals

A move to the club has seen him establish himself as one of the leading forwards in the division.

Joseph Direen, Cygnet (SFL) – 76 goals

With his side flying at the top of the ladder, Direen has been a consistent source of goals for his side.

Sam Greaves, Forth (NWFA) – 73 goals

A returning player this season and has played a massive role forward of centre.

Ed Stanley, Lindisfarne (SFL) – 64 goals

After crossing from Lauderdale, Stanley has emerged as one of the league’s leading forwards.

Ben Holland, Wesley Vale (NWFA) - 63 goals

Skyrocketed onto this list after kicking a whopping 36 goals on the weekend.

Trent Griggs, Lilydale (NTFA) – 61 goals

The division one leading goalkicker for the NTFA. Can he beat last year’s total of 79 majors?

Jack Crossin, St Virgils (Old Scholars) – 58 goals

A recruit at the start of the season and is shaping as a key in the premiership defence.

Aaron Butler, Somerset (Darwin FA) – 56 goals

On track to beat his effort last year and based on current form should soon take over the lead as the competition’s leading goalkicker.

Sam Newson, Queenstown (Darwin FA) – 54 goals

Hasn’t played since late May but is still the competition’s leading goalkicker. His 51 goals have come in just five games.

Max Lamb, Brighton (SFL) – 53 goals

Continues to be one of the league’s leading forwards after another strong season.

Jack Colgrave, Old Scotch (NTFA) – 53 goals

After joining from South Launceston has given his new side a strong target forward of centre.

Matthew Saunders, Lilydale (NTFA) - 53 goals

Has rocketed onto this list in recent weeks after 15 goals in his last two games.

Archie Wilkinson, Hillwood (NTFA) – 51 goals

The current leading goalkicker for Hillwood in the Premier Division competition.

Clinton Curtain, Bothwell (Oatlands) - 50 goals

Has enjoyed a fine season in front of goal and is currently the competition leader.

Amy Bissett, Wynyard (NWFL) - 49 goals

Enjoying a dominant season as one of the state's best.

Shania Saward, Penguin (NWFL Women) — 49 goals

Enjoying a strong season as one of her competition's best.

Jacob Sawford, Sorell (SFL) – 49 goals

Has booted goals in every game to be one of the most impressive players for the Eagles.

Ryan Martin, Lindisfarne (SFL) - 49 goals

Propelled his way onto the list after a hot run of form recently.

Ben Elmer, Perth (NTFA) – 48 goals

Has improved on last year’s effort of 38 goals and remains in the race to win the division goalkicking.

Matthew Taylor, Bridport (NTFA) - 45 goals

Has achieved his total in just eight games.

Tiarna Ford, New Norfolk (SFLW) – 43 goals

In her first season with the club, Ford has been nothing short of dominant. Her best haul was 11 against the SE Suns.

David Cragg, Campania (Oatlands District) – 43 goals

Been a strong performer in front of goal all season.

Jake Hinds, Bridgenorth (NTFA) - 42 goals

One of the star recruits of the off-season.

Harvey Griffiths, North Launceston (TSL) — 42 goals

The Tasmanian representative has been in brilliant form all season with goals in every game. He’s already bettered his tally of 36 last year.

Josh Allen, Motton Preston (NWFA) – 41 goals

A fresh face into his side’s line-up and has formed a strong partnership with Jalen Hayward.

Luke Murfitt-Cowen, Longford (NTFA) - 41 goals

Been in brilliant and consistent form throughout the season.

Narine Maurangi, Hillwood Sharks (NTFA) – 40 goals

Lead the NTFA’s division one women’s competition by 17 goals. Has already kicked double the amount of goals she did last year.
