A new era of Tasmanian football will arrive in 2025 with the establishment of a new look Southern Football League.
Six teams will compete in the Premier League competition including the five former Tasmanian State League clubs.

PREMIER LEAGUE
BRIGHTON
Corey Cleaver: Returns to the Robins after missing all of season 2024 with a serious injury. Debuted as a 17-year-old in 2023.
Charlie Meadows: The former North Hobart 203cm ruck joins the Robins after training with the club during the 2023 pre-season.
Hugh Williams: Returning to his junior club, Williams is a former North Hobart senior captain and captained the Demons TSL Development League flag in 2023. Will work as an assistant coach under Paul Kennedy.
David Monks: A gun key defender who also joins Brighton from North Hobart.
Amsbury Gibson: A key defender who played eight seasons of junior football at Brighton before playing for Woodsdale in the ODFA.
Josh Cleaver: A dynamic midfielder who returns to the club alongside his brother Corey.
Brock Watkins: Joins from Clarence and the club described him as a "hard as nails unit who can play all three lines".
CLARENCE
Aiden Jackman: A former Clarence junior who returns to the club after time away in Tasmania’s north. Plays in the middle and has leg speed and elite foot skills.
Reiley Banks: Joins the Roos from Lauderdale and plays halfback.
Harry Richmond: Returns to Clarence after time at Lauderdale and Noosa Tigers. Is a proven state league goal kicker who will provide plenty in attack at Bellerive Oval.
Fraser Turner: Returns to the club he was drafted to Richmond from in 2018. Will be a playing assistant coach after stints in both the SANFL and the WAFL.
Ben Richmond: Formerly on Collingwood's AFL list. A 196cm key position player who has spent time in the state's northwest.
Ben McGuinness: A versatile player who can play at both ends. Comes from Lauderdale.
GLENORCHY
Ryan Cowie: The left-footed wingman and halfback joins the Magpies after a six-year stint with Clarence.
James Holmes: A two-time TSL Team of the Year member who arrives from Clarence.
Liam Howard: The 20-year-old joins the club from Clarence and is expected to play up forward and in the middle.
Keegan Ryan: Follows his father Peter and uncle Chris in playing for the Magpies. Joins from Clarence and is hopeful of slotting into the midfield rotation.
Josh Hilder: Joins Glenorchy from North Hobart with the 20 year-old set to add plenty to the Pies forward line.
Eden Hills: Spent time in both the under 18s and development league programs at North Hobart. The 18 year-old will be looking to make an early mark at KGV.
John Geard: A former favourite son returns home with Geard coming back to Glenorchy after a stint at St Virgils. Has played 200 games at the Pies and will add plenty of experience into a young line-up.
Keegan Wylie: Glenorchy’s biggest off-season recruit so far. Wylie was one of the TSL’s best defenders at Clarence and will provide plenty in a backline alongside Harrison Gunther.
Harry Cornelius: A former Clarence player who last year played for North Geelong in Victoria. Can play at both ends.
Caden Donaghy: Arrives from Brighton where he captained the SFL's representative team last year in the under-18s.
LAUDERDALE
James Bealey: The attacking halfback and midfielder is a two-time Team of the Year member and makes the move from Clarence.
Jack Dolliver: Won the TSL’s Matthew Richard Medal this year. Returns to his junior club and was the Tasmania Devils leading goalkicker in 2023.
Noah Holmes: The reigning TSL Player of the Year joins the Bombers in what will be another huge boost to the ruck stocks.
Fletcher Richards: Another player from Clarence on the move. Can play at both ends of the ground.
KINGBOROUGH
Bailey Gordon: Gordon returns to Kingborough following stints at Cygnet and Wilston Grange in the QAFL. Played 52 senior TSL games for the Tigers before the move.
NORTH HOBART
Fin Lapham: Returns to the club after a stint with DOSA in the Old Scholars competition. A powerful player who can play across all three areas of the ground.
Ryan Martin: One of the best forwards in the SFL in recent seasons, he kicked 68 goals in 2024 and joins the club from Lindisfarne.
Tom Reeves: The 23-year-old is returning to Tasmania after a stint in Queensland where he played for Gold Coast and Southport among others. He is a lively small forward and midfielder.
COMMUNITY LEAGUE
CLAREMONT
Brodie Cockshutt: Adds much needed experience around goal.
Jordan Percey: An experienced player expected to bring flair to the side.
CYGNET
Lochie Griggs: A state representative who joins the club from Kingborough. Griggs is a tall and dominant utility.
James Zeitzen: The TSL premiership player departs Kingborough for a return back to Cygnet. A proven tall at either end of the ground, Zeitzen will be a major addition to the reigning premiers.
Hamish Watt: Will link up with older brother Lachy after time at Kingborough. Played senior football this season for the Tigers.
Ryan Bradburn: Another who joins from Kingborough with senior experience and kicked a matchwinning goal against Launceston in 2023.
DODGES FERRY
Winston Forrest: Still early in his senior career, Forrest joins after a stint with Lauderdale.
Cooper Hills: Has missed the last two seasons due to a serious knee injury. Will slot into the midfield.
Ben Steinbauer: Joins the club from Lauderdale where he was a best-and-fairest winner. Can play several positions.
Liam Gallagher: Was playing at OHA last season before a serious finger injury ended his year. A hard running midfielder.
Jason Gridley: The key position player can play at either end. He joins from Lauderdale.
Connor McGee: The young ruck-forward has joined the club from Clarence.
Kobey Phillips: The classy winger joins the club off a year where he played in Glenorchy’s senior side.
Max Skelly: Joins from Lauderdale and is expected to slot in across half back. At 20, he has his best footy ahead of him.
Tom Studley: The 20-year-old ruck-forward joins from Lauderdale where he previously won a Development League best-and-fairest. Can move around the ground well.
Liam O’Sullivan: Crosses from OHA and is the ultimate utility player.
Harrison Read: Returns to football after a few seasons away. Previously played at Hobart and Clarence.
Lucas Skelly: An 18-year old young gun who crosses from Lauderdale.
Will Broomhall: Another recruit from Lauderdale who made his senior debut at 16.
HOBART
Charlie Moore: Joins the club from University where he gained senior experience as an intercept defender.
Allen Christensen: Joins Hobart as a senior playing coach on a two year deal. The former Geelong premiership player led Lauderdale to a TSL grand final this season and can still find the goals regularly.
Oscar Shaw: A tough utility who played 100 TSL games with Lauderdale.
Lachie Dare: Comes across from University and can play both forward and midfield.
Noah Mead: A ruck/forward who also crosses from Lauderdale.
Leo Blair: A versatile forward who spent 2024 with OHA and played in North Hobart’s Development League premiership in 2023.
Jake Sansom: Returns to the Tigers after five years with St Virgils. A strong presence who can play across the ground.
Jewd Careless: Spent the last two seasons with University.
Riley Ferguson: Follows in the footsteps of his dad, Matthew, who played at the club more than three decades ago.
Harry Van Kraanen: Joins the club from University where he kicked 20 goals last season.
HUONVILLE LIONS
Luke Graham: Joins the club as a playing assistant coach. Graham played a season with the Lions in 2017 before time with Kingborough and University. He’ll be a mid-sized forward.
Jack Preshaw: A major inclusion from Clarence, Preshaw will add plenty of talent and grunt into the Lions midfield.
Tristan Barnett: A senior premiership player at Huonville in 2020, Barnett returns following time interstate and brief stints at North Hobart and University.
NEW NORFOLK
Ryan Wakefield: Returns to the club after a long stint with St Virgil’s in the OSFA. Will play a leading role in the midfield.
Kyle Hanson: Comes back to footy after a couple of years away.
Tyler Purdon: Returns to the club after spending recent seasons with Sorell.
Zayden Kelly: Returns from time in the ODFA with his height and frame set to add plenty to a young Eagles line-up.
Jacob Daley: A 2017 premiership player with the club. After a few years away from footy he returns to the fold.
SORELL
Mitch Anderton: Back at Sorell after spending the last couple of seasons with Clarence. A fantastic ball user who will be an assistant coach.
Jeremiah Perkins: Returns to the club after a three-year stint with Lauderdale where he was a regular on the wing in the senior team. But he is better known at the Eagles as a dominant forward.
Will Poland: Back at the Eagles after spending 2024 with Lauderdale where he played 14 senior games. Will slot in across halfback with his intercept ability.
Blake Smith: A former junior who returns to the club after time with Hobart and Lauderdale. Plays across halfback or on a wing.
Connor Downham: Former North Hobart small forward and booted 11 goals in a TSL development league game in 2023.
Tom Hudson: Joins from Lauderdale and is a versatile midfielder.
Jake Cure: Cure returns to the Eagles after time away at OSFA club Richmond. Will be an assistant coach.
