RAY Quarrell’s crack crew of runners put another notch in his coaching gunbelt by winning the Stable Relay at the Ballarat Gift athletics carnival.
Teams for the relay consisted of the best runners from each coach’s stable – hence the name – and Quarrell’s crew delivered the goods.
Mitchell Branch, Brandon Clark, Luke Whitney and Jack Howe combined to win the 4x200m Stable showdown and Quarrell, recently crowned the Tasmanian Athletic League’s Sprint Coach of the Year, could not be more proud.
“The best runners get together and finish the meet off with a relay, and my boys won and got a nice sash,” Quarrell said.
