TASMANIAN cricket great David Boon has returned to where it all began.
Boon, a former Test great, Tasmanian captain and administrator, has been appointed to Cricket Tasmania's board of directors where he will help set the pathway for hopefully the next David Boon.
"I am looking forward to making a contribution to the continued growth and development of Tasmanian cricket" said Boon.
"Tasmanian cricket has been a part of my life both as a player and an administrator and I am extremely pleased to have an active role once again."
Boon is currently an ICC match referee, spending six months on the road officiating in Test, one-day and T20 internationals around the world, but will juggle the twin roles through the use of technology.
Chairman of Cricket Tasmania's board, Tony Harrison, says it is an honour and a pleasure to have Boon involved.
"David's knowledge and experience of the game itself and the way cricketing organisations are run will be a fantastic addition to an already high-quality board," said Harrison.
"He has much to offer Tasmanian cricket and I very much look forward to having David again directly involved with Cricket Tasmania.
"The appointment is in line with Cricket Tasmania's succession planning and maintenance of a skills-based board."
