The victory left Devon in fifth place with a 8-10 (32p) record for the season with Cripps qualifying for finals in fourth with a 8-1-9 (34p) record.

Their round 17 draw with the Northern Hawks the reason they pipped Devon for the last spot in finals.

It was a clinical final-quarter display that guided Devon to victory, with some solid defence limiting Cripps to just four final quarter goals.

Dynamic duo Jessie Eberhardt (22 goals) and Tyrah Bacon (21) were terrific in the circle for the victors, while Abbey Geappen and Ash Probert-Hill were two of Cripps’ best.

In the U19 clash, it was also Devon that won a tight 50-49 battle.

PREVIEW

Despite having a finals spot already locked up, Cripps’ Bellah Parker said her side won’t be taking Devon lightly in the final home and away match this Saturday.

The top four is set in stone, with Cripps set to finish fourth, and despite the result on Saturday, they will come up against Northern Hawks in the elimination final next week.

The final round clash between Cripps and Devon will be available live and exclusive on KommunityTV from 5.30pm.

The U19s clash will kick off the action from 4pm.

Parker said their focus was purely on this game.

“It is nice to know we have got a spot in finals but this game needs to be won, we can’t drop off,” Parker said.

“We’ve been focusing a lot on playing 60 minutes of netball and I think that is key to this game, not dropping off for those couple of minutes in each quarter which allows other teams to get a run on.

“A couple of the girls who have filled the defender spots have played in TNL before so that is good for them to know how it works and for us to know them already, that’s really good for connection.

“Learning our basic structure is the main thing for us to gel on the day.”

It is the third time the two teams will face off in 2025 with the battle sitting a 1-1 so far this season.

Cripps took the win in round 7 by four points while Devon responded in round 14, also winning the game by four points.

Knowing they will take on the Hawks next week, Parker said it is hard to not look at what lies ahead.

“It will be tough, we’ve won one, they’ve won one and we’ve drawn one as well,” Parker said.

“We are now missing two of our key players and defenders but if we play our 60 minutes of netball and focus and play with strength together, I definitely think we are very capable of doing that.”
