NRL hall of famer Veronica White has warned the NRLW that is about to be in the eye of a Sauaso storm.
Teenage superstar Shalom Sauaso, fresh off lifting school side Ipswich State High to a national title, will return to the Broncos NRLW squad this week for training.
A development player at the proud club, according to many pundits it is a matter of when, not if, for a Sauaso debut in the big time.
It’s not hard to see why after she helped power Ipswich State High to a 28-6 win over Hills Sports High in the NRL Schoolgirls Cup final.

Speaking to Channel 9 after the grand final, White, who had been the cornerstone to Ipswich’s rise as a women’s league powerhouse, said she looked forward to watching Sauaso take the game by storm.
“I remember in Grade 7, she was a bit of little Teletubby back then. She is an absolute powerhouse now and everyone wants her,” White said.
“She really excels at this game. She loves the contact and loves the camaraderie those girls bring her.
“Once you have her in your team, she’s half the team.
“I am really looking forward to seeing her eventually get there. I think she is with the Broncos, and they will be really glad to have her on their side.”
White could not contain her excitement at Ipswich’s national title win having helped build the school’s rugby league program brick-by-brick.
While she moved to Gold Coast juggernaut Palm Beach Currumbin to do the same this season, the NRL Hall of Famer has kept a close eye on her former charges.
“It is a pretty proud moment to see these girls come through since Grade 7 and now in Year 12, the majority are graduating this year,” she said.
“Last year it was despair because they lost in the Titans Cup (southeast Queensland final) to (eventual national champions) Mabel Park.
“To see them come out today and win was great to watch. It has been great to be part of it all, but they have created their own journey.”
