Burnie’s Quinn Aitken is the perfect example of never giving up on your dreams.

The rising star will head to the Australian Little Athletics Championships in Adelaide this weekend aiming to continue her impressive young career.

And in doing so will create a piece of history as Tasmania’s first under-13 multi class athlete.

For the second-straight year, the Australian Little Athletics Championships will be exclusively live streamed on KommunityTV across all of News Corp Australia’s digital mastheads. Click here to find out more.

Having started at the Burnie Little Athletics in the under-6 age group, Aitken has always been encouraged to participate in every event despite what mum Keryn described as “her petite stature”.

Despite sometimes being behind in her age group, Aitken’s ability continued to stand out and in the under-11s it was suggested she apply for classification status.

“By the start of her under-13 season, we finally had it sorted,” Keryn said.

It was a moment which officially marked a big step forward in Aitken’s career as she is now “loving” the sport according to mum and competing on an even playing field.

While she’s a fierce competitor, there’s nothing more than Aitken losses than interacting with her fellow competitors and creating lifelong friendships.

This weekend, she’ll compete in five events including the 100m, 200m, 400m, discus and shotput in the T/F41 category.
