Expect a bit of noise around Casey on Friday as the Cavaliers chase down a title double. But Norths Bears and Kilsyth Cobras will ensure they don’t get things their own way. Check out the REPLAYS.

If you haven’t hopped aboard the Casey Cavaliers double title train yet, you are running out of time.

The Basketball Australia U14 Club Championship hosts are through the both the boys and girls Championship deciders, setting up what is sure to be a raucous tournament conclusion on Friday.

The boys will face NSW champions Norths Bears in the Grand Final on the showcourt from 1.30pm. The girls tackle near neighbours Kilsyth Cobras in their decider at midday. It’s the second year in a row the Cobras have reached the final game.

Keilor Thunder provided the Cavaliers boys with some stiff semi-final opposition, sticking close until a late 22-10 run in the second quarter gave the hosts all the momentum.

They powered on in the second half to grab a 76-53 success.

Casey will face a formidable opponent in the highly-impressive Bears, who took down the challenge of South Australian big guns Norwood 73-46.

Norwood began fast and led Norths by five points midway through the second term but couldn’t go with their NSW opponents when it counted most.

In the girls, Casey led comfortably at every change to beat Frankston Blues 66-41. The Blues never got closer to the lead than 15 points after the halftime break and will have to settle for a bronze medal playoff against Bulleen Boomers.

The Boomers offence was kept quiet by Kilsyth, eventually only mustering 33 points in a 23-point defeat.

The Cobras get the chance to avenge last year’s gold medal defeat when they fell by three points to Illawarra Hawks.

That split will be Courts 1 and 3, Courts 6 and 10 and Courts 5 and 9.
