Queensland has made it a perfect three from three to end the Basketball Australia Under-20 & Ivor Burge National Championships group games undefeated on top of Pool A.
The Maroons women had to work for their third-straight win of the tournament however, pushed all the way by Victoria Navy in a 70-63 results.
The clash was on of six Court 6 matches live streamed on KommunityTV on Thursday.
Emma Petrie continued her hot scoring run for the Queenslanders with a 19-point display that included three from behind the arc.
It was better news for Victoria Navy in the men’s however as they also finished the preliminary games undefeated to sit first in Pool A.
Navy had far too much firepower for NSW in a 77-43 triumph led by 18 points from young star Austin Foxwell.
Two big Ivor Burge results followed with ACT smacking WA 108-35 and SA defeating NSW 116-38.
ACT star Jasmin Funnell was explosive off the bench with a massive double-double, finishing with 33 points and 16 rebounds from just 16 minutes on the floor.
The impressive performances continued in the men’s clash with South Australia’s Keenan Georg-Dent (35 points, 12 rebounds) and NSW gun James Doyle (11 points and 22 rebounds) the dominating players throughout the contest.
In the final Court 6 clash of the day, the SA men continued their march towards the finals with a 77-62 defeat of NSW Blues.

The New South Wales men face a pivotal day on Court 6 ahead of finals at the Basketball Australia Under-20 & Ivor Burge National Championships on Thursday.
Book-ending six games of action – live streamed on KommunityTV – the NSW top side will face Victoria Navy at 9am before NSW Blue take on South Australia from 7pm.
Both matches loom as crucial to their hopes of making the quarter-finals, which begin on Friday.

Following a win over WA on the opening day, NSW then fell to a disappointing 17-point loss to the NBA Global Academy on Wednesday.
They will be looking for the likes of James Dyson Merwe, Steven Hall, Dylan Tea and Bradley Ballinger to step up when they take on a tricky Victoria Navy side.
NSW Blue meanwhile took a win in their opener against the ACT but were then valiant in defeat against tournament heavyweights Queensland and Victoria in the following two matches.
Another tough opponent in SA will provide them a stern test.

Other Court 6 contests on Thursday include Victoria Navy and Queensland facing off in the U20 women at 3pm, while WA will be hopeful of its first win in the Ivor Burge women against ACT at 11am.
