VAFA 2025 live stream: Watch four semi-finals live

The business end of the VAFA season has arrived and we now know who will compete in the grand final. Watch the semi final replays here.

Caulfield Grammarians are determined to complete their shake up of the VAFA Premier Women’s competition in season 2025.

The Fields have enjoyed a stunning season to finish on top of the ladder ahead of usual powerhouses St Kevin’s and reigning premier Old Scotch.

Now Danielle Di Stefano’s side is just one win away from the decider, as they prepare to take on Old Scotch in Saturday’s second semi-final.

The game is part of a VAFA Super Saturday on KommunityTV where four games will be streamed including the women’s first semi between St Kevin’s and Kew.

While the men’s under-19 premier finals will also be broadcast.

Caulfield Grammarians season was built on a 14-0 start in Di Stefano’s second year in charge.

“We recruited well, a few people fell on our doorstep,” she said.

“Some players came across from other clubs when they went to lower divisions or didn’t field a team. They’ve fit in very well with us.

“We’ve got players on VFLW lists along with great community players.

“When I took over last year, we almost developed a whole new culture, set standards and expectations. The program has really developed over the past 18 to 24 months.”

Di Stefano said finishing on top of the ladder was a major achievement for her side after “looking up” to rivals including SKOB and Old Scotch.

“We hadn’t beaten either side before this year during my tenure,” she said.

“I’m looking forward to almost going in full strength against Scotch. The match ups are critical and both sides have players who can do a lot of damage.

“We know our brand stacks up so it makes for an exciting challenge.”

The clash between St Kevin’s and Kew should be a cracker with their two meetings decided this year but a combined 14 points with the former winning both.

In the men’s under-19 second semi, St Kevin’s and Old Brighton meet in a replay of last year’s decider with both teams now just one win away from another grand final.

The Tonners are looking to defend their premiership.

Old Scotch and Uni Blues meet in the first semi-final under lights with the latter determined to send the Cardinals packing after they ended their season last year.

REPLAYS

Caulfield Grammarians v Old Scotch – 2025 VAFA women's semi final

Old Scotch have directly advanced to the 2025 VAFA Premier Women’s Grand Final following a thrilling six point win over Caulfield Grammarians on Saturday.

The 7.5 (47) to 6.5 (41) win was one that saw the Grammarians fall just short of a remarkable last-quarter comeback, unable to replicate what St Kevin’s produced in the earlier women’s semi-final.

Trailing 40-15 at the final break, they kicked 4.2 (26) to 1.1 (7) in the final term but ended a goal short of sending the game to extra time and seven short of a memorable win.

Old Scotch vice-captain Mia Cowan was terrific for the victors, booting four goals, while Eloise Defina, Lily Hart and Emily Tassiopoulos were all among the better players on the ground.

The loss means Caufield will now face St Kevin’s in next week’s preliminary final with a win ensuring they get a second crack at Old Scotch in the big dance.

St Kevin’s v Kew – 2025 VAFA Women’s semi-final

An incredible final quarter comeback, capped off by a remarkable match sealing goal from Hannah Smith has booked St Kevin’s a place in the VAFA Premier Women’s preliminary final next Saturday.

Down by 10 points at the final break, St Kevin’s produced a four-goal final quarter – after only scoring one goal up until three-quarter time – to overrun Kew and keep their season alive.

The 5.5 (35) to 4.3 (27) ended in dramatic fashion, with Smith producing a highlight reel 75m goal late in the final quarter to halt Kew’s momentum with the game separated by just one point.

Smith turned and wheeled well outside 50, with the ball bouncing through the big sticks thanks to an open 50.

Smith (two goals) and Holly Kenealy (two) were the only multiple goal scorers for the victors, while Claire Dyett was influential inside 50 for Kew with three goals – including the final goal for her side.

Georgia Wyett was Kew’s other goal kicker.

2025 VAFA under-19s semi finals

Old Brighton has kicked its way into the under-19s VAFA grand final with a five-goal win over St Kevin’s.

A close contest was expected given the top two teams finished with identical 15-3 records, and while they both brought plenty of fight, Old Brighton found a way to kick away.

By halftime, they led by 26 points. which they extended to 32 points by three-quarter time to all but secure their spot in the decider.

While Ole Brighton enjoys a week off before the grand final, St Kevin’s will face University Blues in the preliminary final.

The Blues led at every change, but a four goals to one third term allowed University to leave Old Scotch in their wake.
