The excitement of the Koori Knockout is fast approaching with the best Indigenous talent to descend on Bathurst.

As teams start to build their rosters for a shot at the crown, stay up to date with the latest movements with our rolling coverage.

BIG NAMES KEEP COMING FOR WAR

Wiradjuri Aboriginal Rivers continues to show why they will enter this year’s Knockout as one of the favourites.

Western Clydesdales flyer Denzel Burns will join brother Gerome in the side.

They will again have the services of former Indigenous All Star and veteran of over 150 NRL games in Tyrone Roberts.

He adds a class factor at halfback alongside Braydon Trindall.

Classy winger Treymain Spry has also been confirmed as a starter. He has five games of NRL experience with the Titans.

DAK BUILDS FOR FUTURE

The player announcements keep coming for Dubbo Aboriginal Kinnections with a strong mix of youth and experience.

Kyle Darcy, Bailey Ross, Tyrone Peckham, Dylan Hill, Wyndham Peachey, Anthony Gray, Jayden Hyde and Travis Hill.

BOURKE BRINGS THE HEAT

The Bourke Warriors are pulling no punches as they look for a strong showing this year.

They’ve announced Coby Pellow and Alex Ronayne as their two co-captains for Bathurst.

They will be joined by Paul Roberts, Jyie Chapman, Ray Buchanan, Matt Toole, Justin Shillingsworth, Shaq Gordon, Trevor Bolt, Ant Skinner, Aiden Orcher, Luke Dumas, Jarez Bickey, Jaedyn Murray, Wesley Middleton and William Wailu.

TEAMS TUNE UP WITH LOCAL KNOCKOUTS

Knockout season is well and truly here with plenty of action across the state.

The Blacktown Red Belly Warriors took strides towards Bathurst with a win in their home Knockout.

They were able to prevail over the Newcastle Yowies 16-10 in the grand final, with Andrew Fifita lining up for BRBW.

The Toomelah Tigers took out the Lismore Knockout with a thrilling 20-18 win over the North Storm in extra time.

They made headlines with the great Ewan McGrady running around for the Tigers at the age of 60.

At the same event the Northern United Dirawongs proved they will be a force in the women’s division at Bathurst by taking out the title.

MKB made it back-to-back Walgett Knockout wins, downing the Barwon United Swans in the men’s final, with Mungindi defeating Four Sisters Gingie in the women’s decider.

Queanbeyan Kanberri Connections were able to take out their home Knockout with a 24-14 win over the Narrungdera Wiradjuri All Stars.

WIRADJURI MAKES BIG MOVES

After going down in last year’s grand final, Wiradjuri Aboriginal Rivers is wasting no time in trying to go one better.

Cronulla Sharks duo Braydon Trindall and Jesse Ramien were key players last year and are expected to return again.

Rabbitohs 2025 signing Gerome Burns will again line up for WAR after plying his trade in the Queensland Cup this season, as will former Titan Tyrone Roberts Davis.

Among the big names, they have also announced exciting talents Larson Dale-Doyle, Kody Parsons, Brent Woolf, Zac Saddler, Clay Priest, Josh Merritt, Matt Milson and Radean Robinson.

LATRELL RETURNS HOME?

On the Koori Knockout Podcast, Latrell Mitchell confirmed that he would return home to play for Taree.

The Rabbitohs fullback hasn’t played since round 18 and has since been involved in off-field dramas that could potentially hinder his eligibility.

No sanctions have been handed down yet, and Mitchell has been ruled out of contention for Australian selection by coach Mal Meninga.

DUBBO GETS ON THE FRONT FOOT

Dubbo Aboriginal Kinnections have named a large portion of their roster to head to the Knockout.

They’ve confirmed Naythe Peachey, Dale Smith, Josh Stanton, Samual Andy, Darnell Andy, Steven Riley, Kieran Hill, Jarryd Usher, Brock Stiles, Mitchell Williams, Braith Carroll, Janus Walford, Warren Peachey and Kaiden Hill as part of DAK.
