RACE 5: PROVINCIAL MAIDEN HANDICAP (1600m)

WEST HEAD (1) raced back along the rails and was making ground between horses when a long-neck third to Miss Hvar when resuming for a new stable over 1300m at Kembla. The last 100m was the best part of his race and the step up to 1600m looks ideal. O CARA MIA (6) closed well for a long-neck second to Empusa when resuming over 1500m at Hawkesbury before a second to El Paso over 1850m at Newcastle. JOHNNY SMASH (4) is backing up from his second to Exothrill here last week.

BET: WEST HEAD to win.

RACE 6: BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP (2100m)

EXISTENTIAL BOB (8) was narrowly beaten by Amplify when resuming here before a closing fourth to Full Hao at Hawkesbury. Battled away when runner-up to Maison Louis at Canterbury over 1900m. Looks like he will appreciate the 2100m. PERFECT JUSTICE (6) followed his maiden win an Canberra with two handy seconds before jumping up to the Group 2 Tulloch Stakes when down the track behind Pocketing. Back in grade was third to Junebug here last start and won’t be far away again. ALPINE KANDY (5) has claims on her back-to-back wins.

BET: EXISTENTIAL BOB to win.

RACE 7: F&M BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP (1350m)

SUPER NUI (5) jumped from 900m first-up to break her maiden over 1300m second-up at Hawkesbury. She reared at the start and lost a lot of ground before closing strongly when sixth here two starts back and was good again when second to Motoscafo at Newcastle. PELOSA (2) won her maiden in good style from Okami Star at Hawkesbury before going down by a nose to Piperita on the Kensington. Drawn out but is the one to beat. NYMPHADORA (3) was good winning her maiden first-up before s two length seventh to Los Padres at Kembla.

BET: SUPER NUI to win.

RACE 8: CG&E BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP (1350m)

MISSILE SEEKER (3) stood flat-footed and missed the start by two lengths before making up good ground when sixth by Pocketing in a Midway at Randwick on Mar 8. Has been freshened and trialled very well since. WILLIE OPPA (5) broke his maiden with a half-length win from Elegant Artist at Hawkesbury on Feb 20. Resumes here without a trial and expect him to figure prominently. GORBACHEV (6) scored a first-up Super Maiden win from Alpine Ski at Gosford before a sixth at Wyong.

BET: MISSILE SEEKER each-way.

RACE 6: BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1000m)
