WYONG INSIDE MAIL

Race 1: Class 1 Handicap (1600m)
CALIFORNIA SUNRISE (2) came from near last with a strong run to beat Cheergal and La Belle Claire in a Super Maiden at Hawkesbury when resuming on May 30. Followed up with a second to She’s Unusual at Newcastle on a heavy 10. COOK ISLAND GIRL (4) had no problems with the heavy track at Newcastle when she came down the middle of the track to beat Annoint over 1400m when resuming. Should appreciate the step up to 1600m. POCKET EIGHTS (3) is also coming off a maiden win on a very heavy track at Kempsey.
Bet: California Sunrise to win.

Race 2: Super Maiden Handicap (1350m)
MAGIC SHADOW (2) raced keenly early when getting back to last before shifting to the outside and running home well to finish second to all-the-way winner Flying Thinker when resuming on a heavy track at Newcastle on June 15. Hard to beat on that run. TOKYO LADY (13) copped a few bumps in the run when seventh to Tehina at Canterbury first-up before racing keenly when fifth to Hell’s Itch at Newcastle. Will continue to improve and should be kept safe. GLORY START (10) was narrowly beaten into third behind Nefertari at Hawkesbury first-up.
Bet: Magic Shadow to win.

Race 3: 2yo Maiden Handicap (1300m)
HYPERBOLIC (9) had trialled nicely at Hawkesbury on heavy ground and followed up with a solid performance on debut when a three-quarter lengths second behind Plaza over 1100m at the same track. Will benefit from the experience and step up to 1300m. DELRICO (3) is a Chris Waller-trained debutant by Kingman. Wasn’t pushed when second to Mawjood in his Rosehill trial on June 21. LAVALIER (5) is another first starter, by Microphone and a half-relation to five stakes performers including Epaulette and Helmet. Nice fourth to Subdue in his Hawkesbury heat on June 3.
Bet: Hyperbolic to win.

Race 4: Provincial Maiden Plate (1200m)
NAY PEE CEE (2) was just beaten by Tiger Town on debut at Taree before a fading fifth to Highborn Harry at Kembla in June last year. Returned from the long break at Kempsey on June 20 and boxed on well to finish a three-quarter length second to stablemate Pocket Eights on a heavy 10. STRATIFIED (4) wasn’t able to quicken on the heavy track at Newcastle when eighth to Hell’s Itch when resuming. Better than that and worth another chance. LONHREEL (7) tracked the leaders before cruising away to win by over two lengths on the Muswellbrook trial on June 26.
Bet: Nay Pee Cee to win.

Race 5: Maiden Handicap (1000m)
CONTRIVED (3) returns from a spell and look for him to show improvement on his first campaign. Handy second in his Rosehill trial on June 11 before beating Carpaccio in his heat 10 days later. DU CAP (7) led and was beaten only by the very promising Kwyjibo over 1100m on a heavy track here two starts back before a fourth to Villa Tino over the same track and distance. Drops back to 1000m. LIMAHULI (8) resumes as a gelding. Was a nice fourth to Mawjood and Bitten By Barry, who have both since won, in his Rosehill heat. Shaken up when fourth to Twirling on his Randwick trial.
Bet: Contrived each-way.

Race 6: Midway Benchmark 64 (1000m)
BODGIE (2) will appreciate a big drop in grade after racing in metro company at his past two starts. Was a handy fourth to Navy Blood in a Midway at the Gosford at Newcastle meeting on May 11 before a seventh to Fleetwood in a Bm78 at Randwick. Was a winner here on a heavy 10 before that. The promising HELLOVA NATURE (1) resumes as a gelding. Was a winner at his second start in good style before a spell and returning with a win at Kembla last December. Nice trial win at Scone. AMAZING NICCI (9) loves it heavy and must be respected.
Bet: Bodgie to win.

Race 7: Benchmark 64 (1200m)
CARPACCIO (6) showed he has plenty of talent with a debut win over Rustenburg in a Super Maiden at Gosford before a second at Wyong to the seasoned Black Duke who won a Midway at his next start. Wasn’t knocked about in his second to Contrived in his Rosehill trial on June 21. BUBA (7) is a consistent mare who has placed in all four runs on her home track. Was runner-up at Canterbury before ending her campaign with a good win at Gosford in February. Has a good record on the heavy and will make her presence felt. FOURTH SPARGO (11) and COOL LAD (4) have claims.
Bet: Carpaccio each-way.

Race 8: Benchmark 64 (1350m)
CANDY WOMEN (10) was rewarded for her consistent form with a good win from Show Pony on heavy ground at Kembla two starts back before a nose second to Merchant Lady at Newcastle on June 15. SPICY HOTPOT (7) sat wide when a close third to All Machiavellian at Kembla before a fourth to Justela over 1500m there after leading. Back to 1350m suits. BONUS TEMPUS (9) is racing in good form and has strong claims.
Bet: Candy Women to win.
