Shayno: Hello Mitchy. Race of the day for mine anyway, is the two-year-old race. The only thing I love more than the trials is breeding. And make no mistake, we have brilliant triallers and some epic blue bloods lining up here. For the record, I am with the only one to taste winning so far - Wisnierska.
Mitch: Wootton Bassett has been all-conquering in Europe and tipping the super sire gets on the board here. He’s got two progeny and I’ve gone the way of Pallaton. I liked his most recent trial win and judging by the market, I wasn’t the only one.
Shayno: I’m hoping Kris Lees can bookend the meeting. How fascinating is Valimi in the last? He’s won at Longchamp and Deauville and was beaten 2½ lengths in the French 2000 Guineas when the Aga Khan had him.
Mitch: Intriguing galloper for sure, Shayno, but I’ve gone with the proven galloper. That’s Yorkshire. He was a winner of three of his four starts in his debut preparation and should go to a new level this campaign. He’s a Group horse in the making.

Shayno: Glad to see the back of the rain in Sydney, apologies to all the gardeners out there, but now Angela Davies can have a happy round-trip from the Central Coast to HQ with Our Kobison.
Mitch: I’m with him too. He drops in grade here and isn’t penalised too badly at the weights after Molly Bourke’s 2kg claim. Molly is riding in great form too and can capitalise from a perfect draw there on Saturday.
Shayno: I cannot ever remember a horse accepting for three races on the same card like Rapt did. Me? I reckon he could have won any or all of them so I am with her - obviously.
Mitch: I’ve made Callistemon my best value on the card. She’s ready to win now after three build-up runs and should relish the step up to a mile. With 53.5kg on her back and a perfect draw, she’s right in that race.

Shayno: Merry Xmas, Mitchy, to you and yours and also to the readers, plural. I hope they both have a Merry Xmas.
Mitch: All the best Shayno. I am off for a freshen-up to the New Year so punters will get a break from my gibber!
