Saturday’s big Group 1 meeting at Rosehill has been postponed due to rain.
Racing NSW stewards announced the meeting was off at 8.25am on Saturday morning.
Seventeen millimetres of rain had been recorded at Rosehill up until 8am with as much as another 50mm expected during the remainder of the day.
Rosehill was rated a soft (7) at 6am but chief steward Steve Railton told Sky racing “the track has deteriorated into the heavy range”.
“It was futile to think we would get through the lion’s share of the meeting,” Railton said.
Racing NSW and the Australian Turf Club are working through contingency plans to reschedule the meeting and will be announced once a decision is made.
The Wyong meeting on Saturday all fell afoul to the weather leaving Port Macquarie as the only TAB meeting in NSW on Saturday.
