FOUR-PLAY: $200 BETTING STRATEGY

RACE 4: BENCHMARK 74 (1200m)

$25 each-way LIBERAMI (10) at $5.50/$2.20

Deep in campaign but raced consistently throughout, runner-up in three of the past five starts including two behind the promising King Zephyr and No Fuss. Drawn out but could get on the back of the favourite FREIGHT TRAIN (11) and be hard to hold out late. The four-year-old gelding has won two of 13 starts and placed five times. Should be in the finish somewhere.

RACE 7: GOLD BRACELET (1400m)

$25 each-way POIFECT (7) at $8.50/$2.70

Solid effort first-up at Flemington in an 1100m Benchmark 78 against the boys, not quite able to peg back the leaders in a speed-dominated race. Back around a bend here and suited up to 1400m second-up. Drawn wide but has the tactical speed to allow jockey Luke Currie to find a nice position within striking distance.

RACE 8: LISTED BENDIGO GUINEAS (1400m)

$50 win WONDER BOY (3) at $3

Looks very well placed in this company. Last-start second in the Group 2 Phar Lap Stakes (1500m) in Sydney behind Lazzura. Four starts under the belt now for the campaign and should be set to his top gear. Wonder Boy would only need to hold recent form to be very competitive in the Listed 1400m feature. Two starts back finished third behind Enxuto, among the fancied runners in the Listed Golden Mile on Saturday at Bendigo.

RACE 9: LISTED GOLDEN MILE (1600m)

$25 each-way SMOKIN’ PRINCESS (10) at $5.50/$2.20

The five-year-old mare has gone through her grades nicely, won four of her past six starts to earn another shot in stakes grade. Placed fourth last start at Flemington behind Jennilala, set to the contest the Group 1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes (1600m) on Saturday in Sydney. Smokin’ Princess has the gate speed and temperament to settle closer to the speed from barrier two. Small saver on likely leader REGAL ZEUS (4), could be hard to run down.

QUADZILLA

LEG 1 – RACE 7

ZLOTIES (13) hard to fault on recent form and overall consistency. Won three of seven and placed another three times. REGAL VOW (3) boasts a perfect second-up record – three from three – and must be respected off that alone. EXTRATWO (2) has been around the mark in recent starts and a win would not surprise. POIFECT (7) not quite able to pick up in a leader dominated race last start at Flemington but stuck to the task. Should benefit from the run and suited up to 1400m.

1ST LEG: 2, 3, 7, 13

LEG 2 – RACE 8

WONDER BOY (3) popped up to Sydney last start and finished strongly in the Group 2 Phar Lap Stakes (1500m). The start prior placed third at Flemington behind Enxuto, fancied here on Saturday in the feature Bendigo Golden Mile on Saturday. Wonder Boy would only need to hold form to win. RUE DE ROYALE (9) has been a prolific prizemoney earner but just the one win on the board, albeit at Bendigo. NDOLA (4) is hard fit and back in distance.

2ND LEG: 3, 4, 9

LEG 3 – RACE 9

SMOKIN’ PRINCESS (10) has barely put a hoof wrong, won nine of 20 starts including four of the past six. A stakes’ success would be just reward for consistency. ENXUTO (8) looms as a definite threat despite being drawn poorly in barrier 16. REGAL ZEUS (4) should lead and be hard to run down late. RHINOCEROS (13) won last Saturday at Caulfield. Respect the quick back-up.

3RD LEG: 1, 3, 4

LEG 4 – RACE 10

PIVOT CITY (12) powered to the post last start at The Valley to run second against the track pattern after a nice win first-up at Flemington. Going great since being gelded and should be hard to hold out. STREET OF DREAMS (3) could rebound on the seven-day back-up after a bout of cardiac arrhythmia last Saturday. PROVED (15) has a perfect record – five from five – but strongest test to date. Include MARBLE NINE (5) ready to peak fourth up.

4TH LEG: 3, 5, 12, 15
