Queensland fast bowler Xavier Bartlett and dynamic South Australian power hitter Jake Fraser-McGurk have been added to the Australian squad for the 50-over series against the West Indies.
Bartlett replaces the injured Jhye Richardson while Fraser-McGurk is in for Glenn Maxwell whose workload is being managed ahead of the T20 series against the West Indies.
Fraser-McGurk, 21, has taken the domestic white ball scene by storm since moving to Adelaide with outstanding Big Bash and Marsh Cup seasons including a world record 29-ball one-day century against Tasmania.
Bartlett, 25, has been the Big Bash’s leading wicket-taker with the Brisbane Heat.
Before the competition started former Australian coach and Heat assistant coach Darren Lehmann tipped Bartlett to be the Heat’s breakout player and his on the spot seam and swing has impressed the national selectors.
