Though footy finals are in full swing, the domestic cricket season is on the doorstep, with the men’s one-day cup beginning in just a fortnight and the Sheffield Shield starting a couple of weeks later.

It was a big off-season of player moves and coaching changes, while a relatively light early-season schedule for the national side means Australia’s global stars will feature for their state teams in October.

We run the rule over each of the six states ahead of the first one-day game, a rematch of last season’s final between NSW and Western Australia in Sydney on September 22.
