SuperCoach BBL: The Phantom’s team revealed for BBL 14
The Phantom’s team was locked in for BBL14 – but some big injury news has changed things considerably. See the late moves and final side here.

Don't miss out on the headlines from SuperCoach BBL. Followed categories will be added to My News.
To pick the big-money South Australian or the big-money Victorian – it’s the big dilemma of SuperCoach BBL this summer.
That’s right, we’ve claimed Matt Short as a (unofficial) South Australian over here again ahead of the Strikers’ opening fixture on Tuesday.
And I’ll be picking the most expensive player in SuperCoach after he scored 173 more points than any other player in BBL 13.
173.
Yeah, double-game rounds are great, but sometimes we can overthink this game – don’t worry, I’ve done it in almost every season.
He’ll open the batting and the bowling again and in Adelaide’s opening game last summer, also against Sydney Thunder – after the abandoned first fixture – Short made 82 off 41, claimed a wicket with the ball and took three catches.
Numbers that would eclipse a few double-game totals – and that wasn’t even his best return.
But, don’t worry, the rest of the team is stacked with those players.
Tom Curran, yep. Marcus Stoinis, no-brainer.
Just not Glenn Maxwell, the aforementioned big-money Victorian.
He’s an automatic selection when fit but he’s been ruled out of, at least, the Stars’ first game.
Both Melbourne teams play twice in the opening SuperCoach round – and I’ve got eight on-field to start. Maybe nine, with Hamish McKenzie hovering.
It was seven but the confirmation that Aaron Hardie won’t play in Perth’s BBL14 fixture, I added another in Pakistan all-rounder, and Stars replacement player, Hassan Khan.
In another late change, Tom Rogers has replaced fellow Renegades seamer Kane Richardson.
The round 2 double is important, too, with the Strikers and Scorchers getting two cracks at it.
Again, if you don’t start Short, you’d want to make sure you’d be able to move enough money around to get him in before the double – remember his captain scores last year?
They were a big reason for my rise up to 246 overall by stumps in BBL 13.
Sorry, back to this year.
In Perth, Jhye Richardson is serious value at $130k, while Englishman Jamie Overton and Henry Thornton from the Strikers also help set the team up for round 2.
On the bench, Tim Michell has helped me out with all the best sub-$100k options – do yourself a favour and start here.
But I will be using his advice to beat him – and you.
Let’s go.
Bench – and starting line up – could still yet change, depending on the final teams for the opening round. Stay tuned for an update.
