Clarence believes wounded Tigers could mean trouble in TSL round five

CLARENCE fears a Tiger attack could be looming at Richmond Oval today as the Roos attempt to rebound from last week’s narrow loss to North Launceston and maintain a winning record at their adopted home ground in TSL round five.

Having trounced Glenorchy there in the opening game, Clarence wants to give the Tigers a cool reception of the charming country venue.

Roos coach Jeromey Webberley said that, even though the Tigers are winless after losses to North Hobart, Launceston and a one-point nail biter against Glenorchy last Saturday, it was a case of beware the wounded Tiger.

“Their form has been patchy at times throughout games, but then again everyone’s form has been patchy, but they are going to be extremely dangerous,” he said.

“You only have to look at the core of their list and some of the names they’ve got in there, and they’ve also got some really good young talent.

“They finished in the finals last year and we didn’t, so we consider them to be extremely dangerous.”

Clarence’s backline has been a key to their success this season with players like Jason Bailey, Sam Green, Brady Jones, Zac Buechner and Keegan Wyllie in good form.

“The Tigers will be pretty disappointed with having more scoring shots that other teams and not getting across the line,” Webberley said.

“They will be desperate to win and Richmond ground will suit the style of footy they play.

“They are good around the stoppages _in the top couple of teams for winning stoppages _ and gaining territory.

“They’ve got players like Kieran Lovell and Lachie Clifford in there, and Marcus Gardner has really improved as a ruckman this year.

“They got some players we have to keep an eye on.”
