Australian boxer George Kambosos Jr. is pulling out all the stops to remain world champion, including a sex ban ahead of next month’s fight with Devin Haney.
The unified lightweight champion of the world will take on the unbeaten Haney at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium to claim the WBC lightweight strap — the only one Kambosos doesn’t have.
And in order to be at his absolute best, Kambosos Jr. has opted for chastity.

“Well, I’ve got three kids already, so it’s probably doing me a favour,” he joked on Fox Sports’ The Back Page.
But there is a serious element to the idea, which is popular among many in combat sports.
“I make sure that everything that pinpoint — it’s the 0.1 per cent that become the champion of the world, that gets this opportunity to defend in front of all these people in Australia at a mega stadium fight,” Kambosos Jr. said.
“This was never given to me, no-one gave me nothing, I had to come from the trenches, the local ground but I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. If I have to sacrifice a little bit extra right now, so be it.”

Asked what is driving his desire to take down Haney next month, the Aussie said: “Legacy.
“Legacy’s what drives me. My country drives me, but my kids as well, my family. My motivation comes from them and showing that with hard work, dedication, discipline that anything can be achieved.
“And I’m the perfect role model, not only for my kids but for all kids in Australia and in the world.”
