Two key pillars who helped orchestrate Lauderdale’s rapid-fire star against the Tigers at the Twin Ovals were rewarded for their performances. SEE THE VOTES FOR ROUND SEVEN AND COMPARE THE STATS >>

REPLAY: SEQ Junior AFL Grand Final - Sandgate vs Jindalee (U15 Girls Blue)

LAUDERDALE’S big men did plenty of damage against the Tigers in the round seven TSL victory and were duly rewarded from the umpires.

The Bombers ran riot in a stunning opening quarter at the Twin Ovals, piling on 9.1 to 2.0 to set up the eventual 31 point win.

And it was mobile big man Sam Siggins and No. 1 ruckman Haydn Smith who were among the chief architects in the result.

Siggins picked up three votes in the Alastair Lynch Medal count — his first of the season — courtesy of 29 disposals (19 contested), eight clearances and a goal.

Smith had 12 contested possessions from his 16, to go with a couple of contested marks and 31 hit outs to be handed two votes.

It moved Smith back into outright second on the leaderboard behind Clarence’s Ethan Jackson, who was arguably unlucky to not feature in the votes in the Roos’ win against North Hobart.

Jackson had 19 touches, five clearances and kicked two goals, and was the only Roo to have a player rating performances more than 100 (108).

The umpires instead gave best afield honours to Jarrod Harper (16 touches), with James Holmes receiving two for a 16 disposal, eight mark outing.

Reigning back to back Lynch medallist Josh Ponting was also somehow overlooked for a vote in North Launceston’s victory at KGV against Glenorchy.

Match high disposals (33), clearances (10) and a player rating points (137) were not enough for Ponting to catch the eyes of the umpires, with Arion Richter-Salter awarded three from a his 15 touches.

A solid outing from Jay Foon (21 possessions, 12 marks and two goals) saw him net two votes, while Sherrin Egger continued his good form to land one vote after kicking four goals.
