It seems like things can potentially go from bad to worse in Jacksonville.
After a loss to the Tennessee Titans in the NFL on Sunday, embattled Jaguars coach Urban Meyer was met with a handshake on the field by his opposite number Mike Vrabel, the New York Post reported. Based on what the cameras caught, however, it appears the first-year Jaguars coach wasn’t in the mood for pleasantries, with Twitter quickly weighing in on the blink-and-you’ll-miss clasp.

“LOLOL look at the handshake between Mike Vrabel and Urban Meyer,” Ben Stevens of SportsGrid tweeted. “Urban looks absolutely miserable.”
Trevor Sikkema of Pro Football Focus added: “I think we have a tendency to overreact to post-game handshakes but this is … not a good look.”

Meyer, who has recently come under fire amid an NFL.com report detailing discord in the Jacksonville locker room and among the coaching staff, fronted the media after the Jaguars dropped to 2-11 this season. When a reporter commented that Jacksonville’s offensive line isn’t playing up to par based on their bottom line, Meyer replied: “Yeah.”
Meyer also issued a fiery response on fixing “what’s wrong”, according to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer.
“What’s the answer? Starting leaking some information or nonsense? That’s garbage. … If there is a source, then that source is unemployed. I mean, within seconds,” Meyer said.
Meyer has been accused of challenging his assistant coaches to explain what they’ve won and to defend their resumes, per the NFL.com report. Meyer initially responded to the report early Sunday through Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer.

“He said, ‘Yes, absolutely, I’m hard on my coaches. I get on them’,” Glazer said. “But he still thinks he has the support of ownership.”
Tensions in Jacksonville appear to have been boiling for some time. Last month, CBS Sports reported that Meyer had made “his displeasure with many position coaches known”, with said “diatribes” sometimes taking place in front of players.
With four games left this season, it remains to be seen just how transformative the next few months — or weeks — will be in Jacksonville.
