The NFL is looking to introduce a major new rule to protect Travis Kelce and Co.

The Kansas City Chiefs star is in one of the most high-profile relationships in the world with pop star Taylor Swift.

He is constantly asked about their romance, with fans keen to get details and gossip from the man himself.

Watch an average of 6 games each week during the regular season, plus every game of the NFL Postseason including the Super Bowl, LIVE on ESPN with Kayo. New to Kayo? Get your first month for just $1. Limited time offer.

But the NFL is deciding whether to introduce a rule to stop this from happening, as The Sun reports.

The hugely popular league could ban members of the media from team locker rooms at the end of games.

It is believed they are worried about players’ privacy.

And this would stop reporters from getting to Kelce on a regular basis.

Earlier this month, the NFL Players’ Association demanded the league move interviews outside the locker room.

It was to stop the media mingling with stars in the aftermath of a game.

However, it is understood Kelce’s privacy is top of the agenda they are trying to protect.

His new level of fame has meant an increase in media trying to interview him.

That includes entertainment reporters and those outside of the sports sector.

His relationship with Swift has grown to a new level, with rumours the pair could soon get engaged.

In a similar story to coaching great Bill Belichick’s recent shopping regarding his 24-year-old girlfriend, The Sun US has been told Kelce has also been engagement ring shopping.

The 35-year-old Kelce and the Bad Blood singer have been dating since the northern summer of last year.

And according to Radar, the new rule introduction is there to protect him.

“While reporters will still have access to players for interviews, the locker room will no longer be part of the equation,” a source told the outlet.

“Instead, interviews will now be conducted in separate, designated areas, with each team determining the location.

“While the league is pretending this is to protect all players, everyone knows it is to protect Taylor Swift’s boyfriend.

“Swift’s new flame, and other NFL stars, can rest assured that their post-game downtime won’t be making headlines.

“But no one believes it’s just a coincidence that the new rules are being implemented now.”

The NFLPA has been seeking for the new rule to be introduced for a number of years.
