New York Giants legend Lawrence Taylor was arrested in Florida on Friday (AEDT) for sex offender violations.

The former defensive end was charged with two felonies, according to Andy Slater of Fox Sports 640 in Miami.

The New York Post reported that Taylor, 62, allegedly failed to tell authorities he changed his address, which he’s required to do as a registered sex offender.

Taylor was declared a sex offender in 2011 after pleading guilty to sexual misconduct and patronising a prostitute, a case in which he was accused of having sex with a 16-year old girl.

According to TMZ, Taylor was released several hours after booking.

Run-ins with law enforcement aren’t new for Taylor. In addition to the 2011 case, Taylor pleaded guilty to driving under the influence in 2016. He was also arrested in 2009 for leaving the scene of an accident.

During his playing career, Taylor used cocaine regularly, passing drug tests by using his teammates’ urine.

He failed two drug tests in 1987 and 1988, later going to drug rehab twice in 1995 and being arrested multiple times trying to buy narcotics.

Taylor, a Hall of Famer and eight-time All Pro, is widely considered the greatest Giants player in history – and perhaps the greatest player, period.

Taylor texted with The Post’s Steve Serby on Thursday regarding Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons, saying Parsons has a chance to equal his impact.

“They throw the ball almost 80 times a game, giving you more chances to make a difference,” Taylor said, though he admitted he hadn’t seen much of Parsons.

“Just heard about him this week,” he said.
