NUMBER one draft pick Jared Goff is to make his first competitive start for the Los Angeles Rams as the struggling side attempt to ignite their stumbling offense, the club confirmed.
Goff joined the Rams after a blockbuster deal with the Cleveland Browns in the close season to secure the first pick in exchange for a slew of their own picks.
However while other rookie quarterbacks such as Carson Wentz and Dak Prescott have lit up the National Football League this season, Goff has been left kicking his heels, unable to force his way into the starting position.

But the Rams’ offensive problems — they failed to score a touchdown for a third straight game in Sunday’s 9-6 win over the New York Jets — have prompted head coach Jeff Fisher to hand Goff his first start.
The Rams (4-5) confirmed Goff would start against the Miami Dolphins in an announcement on Twitter.
Fisher hinted on Monday Goff was close to making his debut.
“He’s ready, he’s preparing, and doing well,” Fisher said. “He’s anxious and confident.” Goff arrived at the Rams after a successful college career with the Golden Bears at the University of California, Berkeley, amassing more passing yards, touchdowns and completions of any quarterback in the school’s history.
However he struggled during pre-season appearances for the Rams, making only 22 of 49 passes for 232 yards, unable to displace Case Keenum as starting quarterback.
