ADELAIDE
GONE: Brodie Martin, Jack Osborn, Sam Siggins, Anthony Wilson (all delisted); James Podsiadly, Brent Reilly (both retired).
IN PLAY: The Crows’ biggest name, Patrick Dangerfield, will play for Geelong next year and the deal was knocked over on the first day of the trade period with picks 9, 28 and Geelong youngster Dean Gore arriving at the Crows in exhchange for Dangerfield and pick 50. On other trade fronts, Mildura-born Sam Kerridge, who has done his best work as a run-with midfielder, has attracted interest from Melbourne clubs and is a chance to move. Cam Ellis-Yolmen may seek fresh opportunities after finishing out of the side despite a promising start to 2015.
THE TARGETS: The Crows want smooth-moving Greater Western Sydney defender Curtly Hampton — expect that deal to be done early. They are also in the market for Hawk Jed Anderson. Sacked Western Bulldogs defender Michael Talia wants to join his brother Daniel.
NATIONAL DRAFT PICKS: 9, 13, 28, 32, 68, 86, 104, 122

BRISBANE
GONE: Jed Adcock, Jordon Bourke, Mitch Golby (delisted); Matt Maguire, Luke McGuane, Brent Staker (retired).
IN PLAY: James Aish told the Lions that he wanted to be traded to Collingwood. The Lions said no. Touche. Restricted free agent Matthew Leuenberger is more likely to land at Essendon than Sydney and Jack Redden wants West Coast. The Lions are adamant Stefan Martin will stay put.
THE TARGETS: Big-bodied midfielder Tom Bell is contracted at Carlton but wants to go home to be with his dad, who has cancer and lives close to the Gabba. A second-round draft pick should get it done. Either of the two Eagles ruckmen, Callum Sinclair or Scott Lycett, could be used in a trade for Redden and Richmond’s luckless David Astbury would be a nice get. Hawk Brendan Whitecross is another Queenslander perhaps willing to go home. Will also get untried Cats midfield youngster Jarrad Jansen.
NATIONAL DRAFT PICKS: 2, 21, 39, 57, 75, 93, 111
CARLTON
GONE: Cameron Giles, Blaine Johnson, Fraser Russell, Matthew Watson (delisted); Andrew Carrazzo, David Ellard, Chris Judd (retired).
IN PLAY: The Hawks have made their customary late swoop for Chris Yarran, but he wants to go to Richmond. Tom Bell and Lachie Henderson will get to the Lions and Cats, respectively. Unrestricted free agent Dennis Armfield has not been guaranteed a new deal and Robbie Warnock could be on his way out. Looking ahead to the draft father-son prospect Jack Silvagni wants to play for the Blues but says he doesn’t know if they will pick him.
THE TARGETS: Could land young Hawk Jed Anderson and a clutch of frustrated GWS players including Liam Sumner, Lachie Plowman, Jed Lamb and ruckman Andrew Phillips. Missed out on Jake Carlisle, who they’d set themselves for a while ago, and James Aish says Collingwood is his preferred destination. Have made a late play for Adam Treloar but his manager says he wants to be a Magpie. Geelong’s Josh Walker seems less likely now.
NATIONAL DRAFT PICKS: 1, 20, 38, 56, 74, 92, 110
COLLINGWOOD
GONE: Tony Armstrong, Sam Dwyer, Lachie Keeffe, Michael Manteit, Josh Thomas, Clinton Young (delisted); Patrick Karnezis (retired).
IN PLAY: One-time first-round pick Nathan Freeman is on his way to St Kilda, chasing new opportunities after two injury-ravaged seasons, and will likely get pick No. 24 from the Saints. This year’s Anzac Medal winner Paul Seedsman is also on the move, possibly to Gold Coast. Ben Kennedy is also on the table.
THE TARGETS: The Pies are desperate to secure gun GWS midfielder Adam Treloar, but will have to give up a first-round pick and a likely second-round pick from next year’s allotment. Will be happy James Aish wants to head to the Magpies, but getting him there could be a problem because the Lions insist he won’t be traded. Might chase Melbourne’s Jeremy Howe.
NATIONAL DRAFT PICKS: 7, 26, 44, 62, 80
ESSENDON
GONE: Kurt Aylett, Lauchlan Dalgleish (delisted); Paul Chapman, Dustin Fletcher, Jason Winderlich (retired).
IN PLAY: Jake Carlisle has chosen St Kilda and Jake Melskham is off to the Demons on a four-year $1.6 million deal, potentially for a second-round pick. Courtenay Dempsey and Elliott Kavanagh are in limbo, Brent Stanton is still haggling over a new deal but is unlikely to leave and Tayte Pears’ manager says he might still stay. Reports Brendon Goddard is on the trade table in any way have been denied.
THE TARGETS: Essendon wants pick No.5 for Carlisle and, meanwhile, needs another ruckman so is pushing hard to be Brisbane free agent Matthew Leuenberger’s preferred club. More pacy mids also required, but they are hard to find. Could rejuvenate with early picks rather than key players after losing selections through ASADA dramas.
NATIONAL DRAFT PICKS: 4, 23, 41, 59, 77
FREMANTLE
GONE: Ryan Crowley, Max Duffy, Josh Deluca, Jacob Ballard, Craig Moller, Thomas Vandeleu (delisted), Paul Duffield, Luke McPharlin, Colin Sylvia (retired).
IN PLAY: Matthew Pavlich hinted in his book that retirement was likely by referring Aaron Sandilands and Luke McPharlin as former teammates.
THE TARGETS: Freo would cough up 2015 and 2016 first-round picks for Cameron McCarthy, but the young WA product is contracted to the Giants until 2017 and they say they aren’t budging. North Melbourne’s Aaron Black looms as a C-grade back-up and could also chase Cat Shane Kersten. Lyon hasn’t been scared off by Gold Coast Sun Harley Bennell’s drug and alcohol transgressions and the Dockers should get him cheap because they could be the only buyer at the auction.
NATIONAL DRAFT PICKS: 16, 35, 53, 71, 89, 107, 125
GEELONG
GONE: Steve Johnson, James Kelly, Mathew Stokes (delisted); Sam Blease, Brad Hartman, Hamish McIntosh, Jared Rivers, James Toohey (retired).
IN PLAY: Promising young key forward Josh Walker is out of contract after a career-best year and robust midfielder Jarrad Jansen will get to Brisbane. 209cm ruckman Dawson Simpson is out of contract and his future possibly hinges on whether the Cats can lure another tall, Gold Coast’s Zac Smith. Adelaide has its eye on SA-born Jordan Murdoch.
TARGETS: Welcome Patrick Dangerfield. He was the Cats’ No.1 target and he has arrived on the first day of the trade period in exchange for picks 9 and 28 and young midfielder Dean Gore. Now that deal is done, Geelong will talk turkey with Lachie Henderson, Scott Selwood and Zac Smith. With pick 28 now out of play for the Henderson trade, the Cats will need to come up with something else to satisfy Carlton with Josh Walker potentially part of a deal. Meanwhile Selwood is expected to arrive at Simonds Stadium without cost because the Eagles aren’t likely to match Geelong’s offer. Smith could cost the Cats a player.
DRAFT PICKS: 46, 50, 64, 82, 100, 118
GOLD COAST
GONE: Tyrone Downie, Jarred Ellis, Josh Hall, Louis Herbert (delisted); Greg Broughton, Andrew Raines, Timmy Sumner (retired).
IN PLAY:Zac Smith has already nominated the Cats as his preferred home, Harley Bennell wants to get to the Dockers and Charlie Dixon will get to the Power. They are all huge talents but the Suns will play hard ball to get quality picks in return. Want a second-rounder for Smith, two first-rounders for Dixon and a first-rounder for Bennell. Rumours of a blockbuster Jaeger O’Meara trade have been dismissed — for this year at least.
THE TARGETS:Still talking to Melbourne’s Jeremy Howe, believing he is the intercept defender they need who can also play as a third tall. Paul Seedsman is another priority. Will have plenty of picks to assess needs later in the trade period and are determined to get some experience in to help youngsters.
NATIONAL DRAFT PICKS: 3, 19 (compensation pick), 22, 40, 58, 76
GREATER WESTERN SYDNEY
GONE: None
IN PLAY: Adam Treloar will get o Collingwood, and Melbourne is keen on Tomas Bugg to bolster its 21-24 age bracket. Cam McCarthy has been wooed by the Dockers for much of the year, Curtly Hampton has requested a trade to Adelaide and a host of opportunity-starved youngsters — Liam Sumner, Lachie Plowman, Jed Lamb, Andrew Phillips — are being hunted by Carlton. Richmond is talking to Jacob Townsend.
THE TARGETS: Academy pair Matthew Kennedy and Jacob Hopper, provided the Giants can keep interested rival clubs at bay. Could make a play for Cat Dawson Simpson.
NATIONAL DRAFT PICKS: 8, 27, 45, 63, 81, 99, 117
HAWTHORN
GONE: David Hale, Brian Lake (retired); Alex Woodward, Sam Grimley, Jared Hardisty (delisted).
IN PLAY: Matt Suckling is off the the Bulldogs as an unrestricted free agent and everyone is into underused midfielder Jed Anderson. Brendan Whitecross has attracted some interest from other clubs.
THE TARGETS: The Hawks have flagged that they won’t be as active in the free agency/trade period this year, but has had a sniff at Chris Yarran, who is being courted by Richmond. Has some cash now Lake, Hale and Suckling are gone.
NATIONAL DRAFT PICKS: 18, 37, 55, 73, 91
MELBOURNE
GONE: Rohan Bail, Mark Jamar, Jack Fitzpatrick, Jordie McKenzie, Aidan Riley (delisted), Daniel Cross (retired).
IN PLAY: Jeremy Howe is gone. Jimmy Toumpas will likely leave for Port Adelaide’s pick No. 29, keen for a fresh start. More to play out with Jack Watts who wants to stay but could be shifted if a rival offers up quality picks. Everyone on table but no other rumours yet about outgoing players.
THE TARGETS: Tomas Bugg will definitely get to the Dees, as will Jake Melsksham for a second-round pick. Pie Ben Kennedy likely to arrive, too.
NATIONAL DRAFT PICKS: 6, 25, 43, 61, 79
NORTH MELBOURNE
GONE: Scott McMahon, Eric Wallace, Max Warren (delisted), Leigh Adams, Nathan Grima (retired).
IN PLAY: Forward Aaron Black will seek a new home after a lack of opportunities in the past few seasons. The Dockers are likely to make a play for him after having been interested last year. A few contracted players may also come under scrutiny if the right deals emerge. Michael Firrito gets another one-year deal but what happens with Daniel Wells?
THE TARGETS: Having a little dash at Jeremy Howe, who every club thinks could be a handy swingman. One of a million clubs into Jed Anderson. Interested in the speed of Collingwood half-back Paul Seedsman.
NATIONAL DRAFT PICKS: 15, 34, 52, 70, 88
PORT ADELAIDE
GONE: Mitch Harvey, Jarrad Redden, Sam Russell, Mason Shaw, Johann Wagner (delisted); Kane Cornes, Daniel Flynn, Tom Logan (retired).
IN PLAY: Hamish Hartlett has re-signed and the Power is adamant ruckman Matthew Lobbe is going nowhere, but with Paddy Ryder playing his best football as a ruckman rather than a forward, and no substitute next year, how much opportunity will Lobbe get? A couple of Melbourne boys, Andrew Moore and Aaron Young, may be on their way back home.
TARGETS:Gold Coast forward-ruckman Charlie Dixon is the main target and it will take at least pick 10 to get that done, with possible a shuffling of picks further down the draft order. Jimmy Toumpas, taken at No.4 by Melbourne in 2012, could be lured home with pick No.29 an indication of how far he has fallen in three years of exposed form.
DRAFT PICKS: 10, 29, 47, 65, 83, 101, 119
RICHMOND
GONE: Matt Arnot, Matt McDonough (delisted); Nathan Foley, Chris Newman, Chris Knights, Ricky Petterd (retired).
IN PLAY:Ben Lennon probably will stay but he and the Tigers are haggling over money.
Back-up defender David Astbury is in demand from the Lions but at this stage the Tigers are holding onto him.
THE TARGETS: Carlton’s Chris Yarran is the big one. He might be a bad boy but Richmond believes he couldn’t fit its needs any better. He kicked 21 goals as a rebounding defender last year before downing tools at Blues this year. The Tigers have overlooked Harley Bennell and have given up on Adam Treloar. They want inside midfielders but getting one has been a challenge. GWS hard nut Jacob Townsend is a good chance to move to Punt Rd.
NATIONAL DRAFT PICKS: 12, 31, 49, 67, 85
ST KILDA
GONE: Daniel Markworth, Tom Simpkin, Arryn Siposs, Spencer White (delisted), Adam Schneider (retired).
IN PLAY: Yet to make a call on out of contract Farren Ray, but little other movement at the station.
THE TARGETS:Beat Carlton in the race for Essendon’s Jake Carlisle, and now must do a deal. Collingwood’s Nathan Freeman has also nominated the Saints as his preferred home and they probably will part with their second round pick (24) for the rated, but yet-to-debut, midfielder, which is unders.
NATIONAL DRAFT PICKS: 5, 24, 42, 60, 78, 96, 114
SYDNEY
GONE: Adam Goodes, Rhyce Shaw (retired).
IN PLAY: Premiership speedster Lewis Jetta rejected a contract offer and wants to return home to play for West Coast. Local talent Craig Bird wants opportunities after playing only one game after Round 5 – as the substitute. Mike Pyke looks set to retire and inquiries have come for Luke Parker, but he is contracted and more likely to sign a Swans extension than leave.
THE TARGETS: Essendon or Sydney for restricted free agent Lion Matthew Leuenberger? He is on the radar since the AFL eased the Swans’ trade ban. Late-blooming Eagle Callum Sinclair stunk it up in the Grand Final but the Swans prefer him over teammate Scott Lycett. Michael Talia would come dirt cheap because the Bulldogs have no interest in keeping him.
NATIONAL DRAFT PICKS: 14, 33, 51, 69, 87, 105, 123
WEST COAST
GONE: Dylan Main, Rowen Powell, Will Maginness (delisted); Beau Waters (retired).
IN PLAY: Grand Final emergency Scott Selwood has exercised his free agency rights and is set to join his brother Joel at Geelong. The Eagles won’t match the Cats’ big and are likely to receive a secound-round pick as compensation. Sydney and Brisbane are keen on big men Callum Sinclair and Scott Lycett.
THE TARGETS:Swans premiership player Lewis Jetta is looking to reignite his career with the Eagles, and disgruntled Lion Jack Reddan, who is still contracted, is also keen to join West Coast. Eagles will offer their first-round pick (No. 17) to get him.
NATIONAL DRAFT PICKS: 17, 36, 54, 72, 90
WESTERN BULLDOGS
GONE: Ayce Cordy, Sam Darley, Matthew Fuller, Brett Goodes, Jordan Kelly, Daniel Pearce (delisted).
IN PLAY: Unrestricted free agency Jarrad Grant wants to stay but hasn’t been offered a contract. Michael Talia was effectively sacked after the integrity scandal and will be cut if no trade is struck. Nathan Hrovat is contracted but could be used as bait to lure a target and Will Minson, who also has a deal for 2016, wants to keep fighting for games at Whitten Oval.
THE TARGETS:The Dogs will put in the paperwork to make Hawk Matt Suckling’s move official on Monday. Lions issued a hands-off warning on contracted club champion Stefan Martin last month but the Dogs were keen. The coach didn’t want to pay Jake Carlisle big bucks, so expect list manager Jason McCartney to think outside the box.
NATIONAL DRAFT PICKS: 11, 30, 48, 66, 84, 102, 120
