Mo joke, these blokes are legends. As current AFL stars sprout moustaches for a great cause, we look back at the greatest hairy upper lips in footy history ... and some that didn’t quite work.

Movember is almost over, but a host of AFL players still have a few more hours to add some millimetres to their whiskers in the cause of men’s health.
Essendon’s David Myers, St Kilda’s Josh Bruce, Giants Phil Davis and Adam Tomlinson, and Tigers Kamdyn McIntosh and Dan Butler are among those to sprout a moustache in recent weeks to raise funds for the Movember Foundation.

Davis and Bruce have made the most impressive progress, but all Movember participants are following in a fine AFL tradition.
Some of the greatest players the game has produced have worn a mo, starting with player of the century Leigh Matthews.
