SuperCoach AFL Round 18: Top performers and shock scores

It was a weekend of huge scores and player carnage for SuperCoaches across the country. Discover which players shone brightly and who went down as we head towards SuperCoach finals.

Look away now, SuperCoaches.

After a tumultuous round filled with high scores, injuries, and MRO scrutiny, a significant week of strategic adjustments awaits those with trades remaining.

Let’s dive into the details.

WHO’S HOT

Josh Daicos – 198

Josh Daicos delivered a stellar performance this round, just two shy of the magic double ton. His exceptional ball use and ability to find space saw him pile on his biggest score of the season, taking his three-game average to a hot 130.4. Daicos continues to impress with his consistency.

Marcus Bontempelli – 174

Captain fantastic is in great form. The Bont showcased his elite talent with a commanding display, racking up his third 150-plus score of the season. Look out for the finals.

Jordan Dawson – 157

It was another high score in the same game for the Crows’ midfield champ. With a five-round average of 124, Dawson is outperforming the Bont for SuperCoaches and there’s no sign of slowing down. With 27 touches, eight tackles and two goals, Dawson racked up the points in great fashion.

Matt Rowell – 156

The Suns are in hot form – and so is Rowell. His three-round average is the second best in the comp, behind only the Swans big man Brodie Grundy. Rowell has only dipped below 100 once in his last eight games.

Brodie Grundy – 154

Nobody is hotter than Grundy. The Swans ruckman keeps punching out big ones for SuperCoaches. Since scoring 54 against GWS, Grundy has put in a SuperCoach masterclass with his past 9 games looking like this: 154, 127, 179, 159, 155, 161, 109, 135 and 121. What’s not to like?

WHO’S NOT

Tristan Xerri – 57

It was a tough outing for the one-time best scorer in SuperCoach. Xerri found it hard going against Gawn, in more ways than one. To make matters worse a date with the tribunal looms. Xerri could face a few weeks on the sidelines after his careless strike on Tom Sparrow. 58 per cent of SuperCoaches face a nervous wait.

Touk Miller – 45

It was the lowest score of the season for the Gold Coast points machine, who was sent by the Suns for scans on a hamstring concern. After three great weeks SuperCoaches will be sweating the outcome.

Matthew Kennedy – 23

Kennedy has been one of the mid-priced stars of the season. Not this round. His lowest score of 2025 saw his biggest drop in value for the year (-$37.7k).

Adam Cerra – 76

It’s now four weeks since the Blues midfield star has cracked triple figures. He’s lost almost $100k in value in that time, as his season follows a similar path to that of the troubled Blues.

Nic Martin – 15

It was heartbreak for the Bombers mid/fwd. The important swingman was expected to go large against the Tigers. Instead his season came crashing down, with a confirmed ACL putting him out for the season.

Captains

With injuries and tribunals playing a part this week, it’s too early to pick your best captaincy options.

But there a few players who need to be on your radar.

Led by the hottest player in the comp right now, Brodie Grundy.

If Xerri is given a stint on the sidelines, the Swans’ matchup against North makes his selection as C an even easier one.

Usually we’d suggest his brother, but after a score of 198, Josh Daicos needs to be on your radar as a POD option as the Pies’ return to their MCG home in an albeit tricky one against Freo.

And another big scorer is due a return back to home base.

Jordan Dawson looms as a potential C, but there are some big scorers on the other side in Gold Coast.
