ARE you in a world of SuperCoach pain after Round 1?
Perhaps you gambled on guns Scott Pendlebury (89) or Nat Fyfe (61) as captain, or had rookies George Hewitt (96) and Ben Kennedy (115) warming the pine.
Fear not. We’re a long way from the pointy end. Head to head matches don’t start until Round 3 so there’s still time to correct glaring errors.
Only trade if you have to. SuperCoaches have 30 trades for the season — make sure your side is better for having used them.
Back your premium players. One low-scoring game from Fyfe does not remove years of proven results and you picked those blokes for a reason.
Bravo if you were among the meagre few who picked Tom Hickey, Shane Biggs and Robbie Tarrant — less than one per cent played them and they paid big dividends.
Don’t burn trades based on form yet or go chasing last week’s points.
But if you’ve got Dane Swan — it’s time to go. His injury will sideline him for several months at least, and that’s too much value to have sitting on the bench.
If you picked the wrong skipper this week, don’t forget the captain loophole.
Pick a VC in an early game and if he fires, sub in a non-selected player and make him captain. Just make sure the gun player has the ‘emergency’ ticked.
