IS IT time to start paying attention to the topscoring player in SuperCoach?
North Melbourne forward Jarrad Waite dominated against Fremantle, booting four goals, taking nine marks and picking up 129 SuperCoach points — following scores of 122, 174 and 123 in the first three rounds.
That gives him an average of 137, eight points more than No. 2 scorer teammate Todd Goldstein — and 12 more than Gary Ablett.

To the almost 8000 coaches who already have Waite — well done, especially if you got him at his $435,200 starting price.
His value has jumped $128,000 which almost rules him out as a trade option — unless he can keep up that kind of scoring.
While he had well documented injury and discipline issues at Carlton, he has turned the corner as a Kangaroo, playing 27 of a possible 30 games.
Waite laid six tackles against the Dockers and has 22 in four rounds — averaging three more a game than last year. He has also doubled his contested possession numbers, and taken eight contested marks.
Another area of improvement is his accuracy in front of goal. Last year Waite booted 42.24 (just over 60 per cent), this year he’s kicked 16.3.
He might seem an unlikely choice but premium forwards are proving one of the toughest areas to get right in SuperCoach this season. Who would have predicted the top six scorers would be Waite, Aaron Hall, Zach Merrett, Tom Lynch, Josh Kennedy and Eddie Betts?

THIS WEEK’S WINNING TEAM
Team: Scotland Nessies
Coach: Scott Mangan, Vic
Score: 2374
Prize: $1000
It seemed an unlikely scenario but three Bombers have helped Scott to this week’s highest total, with David Zaharakis (129), Zach Merrett (123) and Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti (106) all outscoring stars like Patrick Dangerfield, Nic Naitanui and Ollie Wines. Scott also has Matt Dea in defence and two more Bombers — Mitch Brown and Michael Hartley — on the bench. Add bench ruckman Sam Grimley and it makes seven Dons in the squad. Naming Todd Goldstein (121) was a smart move, and so was leaving Tom Papley (24) on the bench.
