KFC SuperCoach 2022: All the scores and key stats from the AAMI Community Series

The AAMI Series is over and one KFC SuperCoach bargain saw it off with a bang. See every score and key stats – being across all the data is vital ahead of Round 1.

The AAMI Community Series is here and it’s every club’s final warm-up before Round 1, meaning the data from the weekend’s matches is vital for KFC SuperCoaches.

Here’s every score from every game, thanks to Champion Data.

GOLD COAST v GEELONG

FREMANTLE v WEST COAST

EAGLES

Tim Kelly ($464,700 MID) stood up in an injury-hit Eagles midfield, finishing with game-highs for disposals (32) and KFC SuperCoach points (119). Should we be considering him in our plans? Connor West ($249,800 FWD) presents as another mid-priced forward option with enhanced midfield minutes, while bottom-priced signing Hugh Dixon ($102,400 RUC/FWD) was solid. Train-on Tom Joyce — a potential $102k midfielder — is one to watch with the supplemental selection period deadline ending on May 9, after the former Lion tallied 17 disposals and 58 points. He could be the cheap midfield rookie we have been crying out for. Don't stress too much about Nic Naitanui’s ($627,400 RUC) score, it came from just 58 per cent gametime.

DOCKERS

Will Brodie ($224,300 FWD-MID) backed up his ton in the first practice game with another three-figure effort against the Eagles, racking up 23 disposals and nine tackles. Expect that ownership percentage to rise. Caleb Serong ($451,00 MID) and Andrew Brayshaw ($584,300 MID) also raised the bat. Second year Docker Heath Chapman ($275,200 DEF), who had 16 disposals to halftime, looks to have appeal as a mid-priced defender in a distributing role. And as if to tease us, KFC SuperCoach burn men Michael Walters ($349,400 FWD) and Jordan Clark ($338,200 MID) also had big games.

SYDNEY v NORTH MELBOURNE

SWANS

Isaac Heeney ($454,500 FWD), why do you tempt us like this? With no Lance Franklin, Heeney played mostly as a forward but bagged four goals on his way to 113 KFC SuperCoach points. Popular rookie Dylan Stephens ($167,800 MID) wasn’t spectacular but did enough, but unfortunately junior ball magnet Matty Roberts ($117,300 MID) didn’t get much of a run. Should we be worried about another middling score from Jake Lloyd ($586,600 DEF)? No ... we think.

KANGAROOS

No.1 draft pick Jason Horne-Francis ($207,300 MID) is a lock in most KFC SuperCoach teams but the pre-season has made it clear it might be tough to score too many points for the Roos this year. Tarryn Thomas ($4359,300 FWD) has slipped down the mid-price pecking order but Tristan Xerri($208,200 FWD) could surprise.

GWS GIANTS v COLLINGWOOD

GIANTS

If Stephen Coniglio ($261,300 FWD/MID) wasn’t already locked into your KFC SuperCoach team, what are you doing? Stop now and go and select him. The Giants co-captain is insanely cheap and looks primed for a big season after collecting 27 disposals through the midfield. Josh Kelly ($582,200 MID) had 41 touches and would make a unique midfield premium while Braydon Preuss ($204,700 RUC) threw the cat among the ruck pigeons. He played forward most of the day supporting Matt Flynn in the ruck but provided a strong marking presence and finished with 102 points. Cheap R2, anyone?

MAGPIES

The big story here is Nick Daicos ($193,800 MID), who looks set to provide fantastic scores from Round 1 – pick him in your midfield and make sure he’s not stuck on the bench. Brodie Grundy ($627,100 RUC) looks set for a huge season, Jack Crisp ($571,000 DEF) is a safe bet in defence, Jordan de Goey ($463,500 FWD/MID) remains a mid-price risk, and you can cross of Patrick Lipinski ($359,900 MID), who hurt his ankle in the first quarter.

ST KILDA V ESSENDON

SAINTS

Jack Steele ($685,800 MID) was in cruise control for most of the night, don’t panic if you’ve forked out the big bucks for the Saints captain. Jade Gresham ($299,000 MID/FWD) was busy and got through the game unscathed, but didn’t see a lot of centre bounce action. Is he a bargain or a trap? It’s a 50/50 all right now – back your gut! Put new SPP signing Jack Hayes ($102,000 FWD/RUC) on your bench in either the ruck or forward line.

BOMBERS

Looking for a point of difference in your midfield? Last year’s breakout star Darcy Parish ($621,300 MID) could go to another level in 2022 and he’s in just 8.5 per cent of teams. Jye Caldwell ($266,700 MID) put up his hand as another dirt cheap mid-price option (could he get more CBAs than Jarrod Berry?) and Jordan Ridley ($537,100 DEF) took another bucketful of intercept marks. Nick Martin ($102,400 FWD) only came on at halftime but was good after that – please pick him, Truck! Oh, and ignore Zach Merrett’s low score, he was sent to the showers at halftime to freshen up for Round 1.

ADELAIDE v PORT ADELAIDE

CROWS

Lock Josh Rachele ($184,400 FWD) into your forward line. The Crows’ top draft pick backed up his three goals last week with another three to ensure a Round 1 debut. Another sub-$200k player worth keeping in mind is Mitch Hinge ($180,900 DEF), who was hurt in his first game for the Crows in Round 1 last year but has looked solid off half-back in the pre-season. Two more cheapies in Jake Soligo ($117,300 MID) and Luke Pedlar ($123,900 MID/FWD) are borderline best 22 while Wayne Milera ($271,100 DEF) played in the reserves game.

POWER

Zak Butters ($443,600 FWD) is one of the hype players of the pre-season and he didn’t do anything to douse the enthusiasm with another 114 points. But his partner in crime from the 2018 draft Connor Rozee ($400,200 FWD) reminded us of his talents, while underrated premos Ollie Wines ($612,600 MID) and Travis Boak ($578,500 MID) did their usual thing. Popular rookie Josh Sinn ($157,700 DEF/MID) only played the second half - a warning sign ahead of Round 1.

HAWTHORN v RICHMOND

HAWKS

How many top-priced rookies can you put in your starting team? Many players have Jason Horne-Francis ($207k) and Nick Daicos ($193k) pencilled in, now we might need to include Josh Ward ($180,300 MID) as well. He was huge against the Tigers, top-scoring for the Hawks after amassing 29 disposals and a game-high 19 contested possessions. James Sicily ($448,100 DEF) did enough to validate those taking the punt on him and rookies Connor Macdonald ($117,300 MID) and Finn Maginness ($147,300 MID/FWD) are on the Round 1 watch list.

TIGERS

Liam Baker ($449,300 DEF) finished 2021 with three tons in his last four games and top-scored in Devonport with a huge 149 points, but it would take guts to pick him. Jayden Short ($535,200 DEF) is a much safer option after the retirement of Bachar Houli, although Nick Vlastuin didn’t feature against the Hawks. Dustin Martin ($503,500 MID/FWD) looked sharp and spent almost the entire game in the midfield while Hugo Ralphsmith ($206,700 FWD/MID) and Josh Gibcus ($171,300 DEF) showed enough to be worth a look if they are named for Round 1.

WESTERN BULLDOGS v BRISBANE

BULLDOGS

Thinking about leaving out Josh Dunkley? Think again. He attended the most centre bounces for the Bulldogs and tallied 32 disposals, a game-high 18 contested possessions and 120 KFC SuperCoach points in another impressive pre-season outing. Adam Treloar started in the centre square and was the first player to get gain possession on the night. It took him a little while to get going after that but he came home with a flurry to finish with 29 disposals, 11 contested possessions, two goals and 132 points. And Jack Macrae did Jack Macrae things on his way to another monster score - a game-high 138.

BRISBANE

Lachie Neale was the star for Brisbane, tallying 30 disposals, 12 contested possessions, 1.1 and 112 points – the only Lion to pass three figures, despite Chris Fagan’s side winning the game. Bargain midfielder Jarrod Berry backed up his huge practice match showing with another 19 disposals, six marks, five tackles and 82 points to, again, confirm his value. But it wasn’t good news for fellow Brisbane mid-pricer Keidean Coleman, who hurt his hamstring in the second quarter just as he was working his way into the game.

CARLTON v MELBOURNE

BLUES

If you didn’t think Patrick Cripps ($454k MID) was back after the practice match against the Saints, it’s hard to deny it now. The Carlton skipper danced in and out of traffic and moved more freely than he has in almost two years, on his way to a game-high 157 KFC SuperCoach points. Cripps tallied 31 disposals, 13 contested possessions, 10 clearances, eight tackles and four goals. Recruits Adam Cerra ($490k MID - 27 disposals and 123 points) and George Hewett ($399k DEF – 32 disposals and 106) were equally as impressive as Michael Voss’ new-look midfield got the better of the reigning premiers. Mitch McGovern ($256k FWD) was the other big KFC SuperCoach story of the night, with the 27-year-old announcing his pre-season move to defence is a serious one, dominating in the air, tallying a game-high six intercept marks and 100 points. Rookie forward Corey Durdin ($143k FWD) kicked two first-quarters goals but left the field not long after with what appeared to be a calf issue.

DEMONS

Max Gawn ($657k RUCK) continues trying to tell KFC SuperCoaches that his partnership with the rapidly-developing Luke Jackson won’t affect his scoring. The Demons captained tallied a team-high 133 points, on the back of 23 disposals, 15 contested possessions, nine marks and 28 hitouts. Midfield star Clayton Oliver ($672k MID) came out all guns blazing before fading away slightly after half-time, finishing with 28 disposals and 104 points. In the absence of fellow running defenders Michael Hibberd, Trent Rivers and Christian Salem, Jake Bowey ($265k DEF) tallied 22 disposals and 87 points to keep his name in the KFC SuperCoach conversation.
