If you’re trading out Alex Sexton in SuperCoach this week, it might pay to rethink those plans.

The Gold Coast veteran is a big chance to win back his spot in the AFL side after booting five goals against Brisbane in the VFL.

Sexton’s game also featured 21 disposals at 91 per cent efficiency and 10 marks to register 142 SuperCoach points.

A one-match suspension for Bodhi Uwland gives his chances another major boost.

And Sexton isn’t the only popular bench player in SuperCoach who has hit form at state league level, with several featuring among the topscorers among the more than 200 AFL-listed players in action in the VFL, SANFL and WAFL last weekend.

Bruce Reville responded to being dropped by the Lions with 26 disposals, two goals and eight marks for 103 SuperCoach points.

And the Saints have back-ups ready if needed, although it’s hard to see many changes after dismantling Essendon.

Hugo Garcia racked up 15 tackles to go with 18 disposals for 115 SuperCoach points, while young defender Arie Schoenmaker scored 91 points from his 29 disposals, kicking at 77 per cent efficiency.

SuperCoaches with Kane McAuliffe (23 disposals, nine tackles, 115 SuperCoach points) also have hope of having an extra player available in the first week of SuperCoach finals.

One of the most popular rookies in the game also put up his hand for a surprise late-season call-up that could throw captaincy calculations out the window – Coen Livingstone booted three goals on his way to a season-high 93 SuperCoach points against Subiaco.

Among other notable performances in round 18 of the VFL, round 16 in the SANFL and round 17 of the WAFL:

HAWK Harry Morrison produced the best SuperCoach score of the weekend – 174 points from 33 disposals, 14 contested possessions, three goals, seven marks and six tackles for Box Hill against Williamstown. He is averaging 128 in nine VFL games this year.

KYNAN Brown couldn’t repeat his stunning 24-tackle performance a week earlier, laying seven and gathering 10 disposals for 69 SuperCoach points.

BOMBER Elijah Tstatas is in the frame for a call-up this week after collecting 34 disposals, 15 contested possessions, seven clearances and 135 SuperCoach points.
