WHO starred and who flopped in Round 2?

We look at the best and worst SuperCoach performances of the round.

COLLINGWOOD 87 def RICHMOND 86

Magpies studs: Alex Fasolo (137) put in a clinic kicking six goals in a matchwinning display. Scott Pendlebury (110) was allowed to do as he liked playing loose across half back before spending in the midfield when it mattered the most. Brodie Grundy (109) kicked a sealer giving his SuperCoach score a boost.

Magpies duds: Jordan de Goey (50) butchered most of his 14 disposals which impacted his score. James Aish (48) had one kick but made it count for a goal in the last quarter. Travis Cloke (58) showed signs of his best form.

Tigers studs: Dustin Martin (134) and Bachar Houli (127) did everything in their power to get the Tigers across the line. Jack Riewoldt (112) kicked three goals in the last quarter to boost his score, while Brandon Ellis (109) and Trent Cotchin (107) were as damaging as Tigers coach Damien Hardwick would have liked.

Tigers duds: Alex Rance (75) was under siege early in the contest but got better as the game went on. Connor Menadue (63) put in a solid performance.

ADELAIDE 114 def PORT ADELAIDE 86

Crows studs: Eddie Betts (142) and Scott Thompson (140) led the way from Tom Lynch (129) and Rory Laird (127). Brad Crouch (83) did just enough.

Crows duds: Few and far between ... Taylor Walker (58) did his job with two goals while Sam Jacobs (74) put in another below-par performance.

Power studs: Robbie Gray (129) starred with 37 disposals including a goal but it could have been more had he kicked straighter. Ollie Wines (101) the only other Power player in triple figures.

Power duds: Jared Polec (8), Justin Westhoff (24) and Charlie Dixon (35) couldn't get near the ball, while Matthew Lobbe (51) again struggled to make SuperCoach in roads.

ESSENDON 80 def MELBOURNE 67

Bombers studs: David Zaharakis (133) and Zach Merrett (131) starred in the thrilling win at the MCG. Merrett finished feasted on the Dees with 32 disposals including two goals. Popular Bombers Matt Dea (87), Michael Hartley (86), Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti (84) and Mitch Brown (72) posted solid scores.

Bombers duds: Ryan Crowley (38) and Nick Kommer (31) were unable to put their stamp on the game.

Demons studs: Bernie Vince (115) and Ben Kennedy (105) tried valiantly to get the Dees across the line and it showed on the SuperCoach scoreboard.

Demons duds: Angus Brayshaw (36), Jack Watts (50) and Jesse Hogan (51) failed to fire in the disappointing loss to Essendon. Clayton Oliver (60) found the going tougher in his second AFL game.

BRISBANE 83 def by NORTH MELBOURNE 117

Lions studs:Dayne Zorko (148) was unstoppable in the first half, while Stef Martin (112) got the better of Goldstein around the ground.

Lions duds: Daniel Rich (38) was limited to just seven disposals under the hard Ben Jacobs tag. Tom Rockliff (48) spent the last quarter on the bench with his calf heavily strapped.

Kangaroos studs: Jarrad Waite (174) destroyed the Lions with five goals from his 23 disposals. Jack Ziebell (127) and Daniel Wells (121) also fired on all cylinders.

Kangaroos duds: Tough on Todd Goldstein (95) but at his SuperCoach price we expected more from the premier big man in the competition. Ben Cunnington (65) and Nick Dal Santo (63) played only bit-part roles in the scrappy win. Andrew Swallow (77) looked to be going through the motions.

ST KILDA 36 def WESTERN BULLDOGS 93

Saints studs: Who else but Nick Riewoldt (101) top-scoring in his 300th game while Leigh Montagna (100) made it a veterans quinella.

Saints duds: Sam Gilbert (32) struggled to make an impact while young Jade Gresham (37) might have slammed into the rookie wall a bit sooner than expected. Tom Hickey (61) crashed back down to earth after his monster score last week.

Bulldogs studs: Marcus Adams ... take a BOW! As good as a second game of footy as you will ever see. 24 disposals, five marks for a game-high 135 points. Jason Johannisen (123), Lachie Hunter (119) and Tom Liberatore (118) dominant around the ground.

Bulldogs duds: Tough to pick on any of the Doggies but Matthew Suckling (68) owners would have been expecting more from the premiership Hawk. Marcus Bontempelli (79) did his job in an otherwise scrappy contest.

FREMANTLE 100 def by GOLD COAST 126

Dockers studs: Nat Fyfe (149) found his best form but it wasn’t good enough to drag Freo across the line. The Brownlow medallist finished with 34 disposals including three goals. Michael Walters (104) and Aaron Sandilands (104) the only other Dockers in triple figures.

Dockers duds: Michael Barlow (61) and Tommy Sheridan (54) had no impact on the contest.

Suns studs: Tom Lynch (122) starred with five goals, while Aaron Hall (120) and Gary Ablett (114) cruised around the stoppages. Alex Sexton (111) bobbed up with 25 disposals while Jack Martin (103) proved difficult to stop inside 50.

Suns duds: Trent McKenzie (57) was a shadow of the player that dominated the NAB Challenge, while Tom Nicholls (46) had his colours lowered by Sandilands.

GWS GIANTS 89 DEF GEELONG 76

Giants studs: It was a horror weekend for Melbourne supporters after the loss to Essendon and Tom Scully’s (140) domination against Geelong made it even worse. Ryan Griffen (132) bounced back after a disappointing game last week and Toby Greene (120) showed we weren’t crazy when predicting he’d have a breakout season. Steve Johnson (118) did plenty of damage against his old side and Shane Mumford (105) powered on.

Giants duds: Top-priced defender Heath Shaw (74) had a rare off day, managing only 15 disposals, while Jonathon Patton (26) didn’t have an influence in his first game back.

Cats studs: Andrew Mackie (120) provided plenty of run off halfback, while popular ruck pick, with bonus dual position status, Mark Blicavs (115) was influential. Cam Guthrie (100) was the other Cat to score triple figures.

Cats duds: Who would have thought? Patrick Dangerfield (77) was a far cry from the match-winner we saw last week against Hawthorn and Joel Selwood (70) didn’t fare any better as the Giants midfield controlled proceedings. Mitch Duncan (25) was having a nightmare before he was absolutely poleaxed by Shane Mumford in the third quarter.

HAWTHORN 99 DEF WEST COAST 53

Hawks studs: It was the Josh Gibson Show at the MCG. The premium defender racked up 44 disposals and 191 SuperCoach points in an all-action performance. Sam Mitchell had it 37 times for 144 points. Cyril Rioli (128), Jordan Lewis (115), Isaac Smith (115), Billy Hartung (104) and Will Langford (101) all reached triple figures.

Hawks duds: Not many to choose from. Daniel Howe’s 39 was a club low but still beat five Eagles. Shaun Burgoyne’s 80 and Luke Breust 82 would have disappointed their owners.

Eagles studs: Not a single Eagle tonned up. Not one! Luke Shuey and Shannon Hurn scrape into the studs column with 96 and 94 respectively.

Eagles duds: Liam Duggan was a more than a few SuperCoach teams during the pre-season but he was virtually invisible on Sunday, scoring just 17 points. Lewis Jetta was anything but impressive on his West Coast debut, finishing with 27. Elliott Yeo’s 40 would have a few owners pondering trade strategies and Matthew Priddis came back to earth with a thud, scoring 79.

CARLTON 71 def by SYDNEY 131

Blues studs: Dale Thomas (111) put in a brilliant four-quarter effort for the Blues, finishing with 25 disposals and four marks including a beauty against Lance Franklin. Sam Kerridge tonned up as did Ed Curnow (105) and Patrick Cripps (101).

Blues duds: Jed Lamb (30) hardly fired a shot against his original club in Sydney, while Matthew Kreuzer (56) had his hands full up against the Swans twin talls. Jacob Weitering (68) was quiet in the first half.

Swans studs: Tom Mitchell (133) had the ball on a string on his way to 34 disposals, while Dan Hannebery (121) dominated around the stoppages. Big boys Callum Sinclair (116) and Kurt Tippett (110) combined for seven goals. Luke Parker (116) and Tom Papley (109) put in big games.

Swans duds: George Hewett found the going tougher in his second AFL game after flirting with triple figures on debut. Academy kids Isaac Heeney (59) and Callum Mills (68) also played bit-part roles.
