The grieving sister of an 18-year-old killed in a car crash says the memory of her much loved brother will “live on through everyone”.

Nick Campo was out celebrating his 18th birthday when the Toyota HiLux he was travelling in crashed and rolled before colliding with a Jeep Patriot SUV in North Lake on Saturday evening.

Mr Campo died at the scene while the 17-year-old driver of the Toyota and three other passengers, one aged 17 and two aged 18, were taken to Royal Perth Hospital for various injuries.

The 26-year-old male driver and 27-year-old female passenger of the Jeep were taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital with minor injuries and have since been discharged.

Eva Campo thanked those who have reached out to offer their support and condolences in the wake of her brother’s death.

“I’ve probably gotten thousands of messages. It’s all still pretty surreal,” she said.

“I know that his memory will live on through everyone, I think a pierce of him lives in a lot of people, including me.”

On Monday, Mr Campo’s friends and family visited the scene of the crash on Farrington Rd, where floral tributes have been laid in memory of the young sportsman.

Mr Campo’s father, Daniel Campo said his family’s “lives have been ripped apart” following the tragic death of his son.

“In the early hours of this morning our beautiful son Nick passed away after he was involved in a tragic car accident, our lives have been ripped apart, 18 years old, a future with so much hope taken away, we are praying others in the car involved will be OK,” Mr Campo wrote on Facebook.

South Fremantle chief executive officer Cameron Britt said the club was in “deep shock” following the crash.

“South Fremantle Football Club is deeply saddened by news of a car accident overnight … resulting in the tragic death of South Fremantle footballer Nick Campo,” he said in a statement.

“We are a club in deep shock, focused upon supporting our players, staff and their families in these tragic circumstances.”

Cockburn Cricket Club described Mr Campo as a “talented all around sportsman,”

“We send our heartfelt condolences to his family, fellow Cavaliers, Daniel (father) and Charlie (brother) as well as his mother Bianca and sister Eva. We are thinking of you all at this terrible time,” the club said.

The 17-year-old HiLux driver has since been charged with dangerous driving occasioning death, dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm and dangerous driving occasioning bodily harm.

He was granted bail with the condition that he is unable to drive and can only contact one friend involved in the crash.
