Which AFL players hail from your local club?

To shine a light on grassroots football, News Corp has mapped the junior teams of each of the almost 800 players on a list in 2022.

In all, there are more than 400 community clubs represented.

From little-known regional teams to suburban powerhouses, our Club of Origin footy map allows users to search for any club across Australia to learn how many of this year’s players they have produced.

We have also mapped the Gaelic teams that the league’s Irish contingent hail from, as well as Oklahoma State University, the former home of Collingwood’s Mason Cox.

The majority of players’ original junior clubs were provided by the AFL.

There were some News Corp tracked down using season guides or club or draft websites.

Schools were not listed.

Although they have had a hand in helping players reach the AFL, this project focuses on the development done by grassroots clubs, usually before youngsters have started high school.

The same goes for state league sides, so not many are listed.

Some players would have featured for more than one junior team but we relied on what the AFL provided.

Only six players’ community teams were not identified: Phil Davis (GWS), Todd Goldstein (North Melbourne), Lachlan Keeffe (GWS), Ivan Soldo (Richmond), Jake Stein (GWS) and Tex Wanganeen (Essendon).
