GLENORCHY is set to regain up to three players for its clash with third-placed North Hobart at KGV on Saturday.

A week off for the bye allowed Magpie onballer Sam Rundle and midfielder Matt Dilger to recover from injury, while key play-maker Ben Kamaric could also make a long-awaited comeback from a hamstring tear.

Glenorchy coach Paul Kennedy said the Demons, despite a dreadful record at KGV, were a danger to the home side so it was pleasing to regain players after a horror run of injuries.

“Matty and Sam were late withdrawals from our win over the Tigers and with the week off we expect them to both come back in,” Kennedy said.

“Ben Kamaric is a chance to return – we’ll see how he goes at training this week but so far so good.”

Before they beat the Tigers by a point, Glenorchy had 11 players injured.

“Against the Tigers we were able to add a bit more experience with Daniel Joseph, Tom Cleary, John Geard and Jaye Bowden coming into the group,” Kennedy said.

“That made a huge difference to the younger players.

“A number of our young guys were among our best contributors that day.

“To have that voice of experience around them and to tell them where to be and how to get their starting points right was really important.

“From there they could use their instincts to play footy the way they know how.”

North Hobart has posted wins over the Tigers and Lauderdale, while the Magpies won their only game last start.

“We’ve seen North Hobart as a threat since last season,” Kennedy said.

“When we played them last year they had only won one game but the footy they were playing was far superior to that.

“With the Devils guys coming back this year it has added more quality and their progression has continued.”
