It was a big year for footy in Tasmania and the Mercury has taken a deep dive to find out who reigned supreme when it came to kicking snags.

We scoured every men’s and women’s seniors, reserves, and under-18 competitions across the state to compile a list of every goal kicker across Tasmania’s footy competitions (excluding Circular Head Football Association).

In total over 30,000 goals were kicked across the competitions with over 4700 Tassie footballers able to register at least one snag through the big sticks this season, with four players able to reach the magical 100 goal milestone.

Trent Standen kicked 30 goals in the final game of the home and away season to pass 100 goals for the season. He went on to kick nine in the finals to finish with 110 for the season. Picture: Nikki Davis-Jones

When it came to the Kings of goal kickers in season 2021 it was Trent Standen (OHA) from the OSFA and Wade Symmons (Forth) from the NWFA who took the top mantle in the men’s competitions with both registering a whopping 110 goals for the season.

Symmons largest single-game goal tally was 18 while Standen kicked a truly remarkable 30 goals in one match to fall one shy of tying the state record of 31 in a single match.

Southern Storm young gun Cam Walter (105 goals) and Peter Fulton (101) from Yeoman in the Darwin Football Association were the other two who dominated up forward to become centurion goal kickers this season.

In the women’s competitions across the state it was SFLW player Remie Bampton who was crowned Queen of Tassie’s female goal kickers with a tally of 51 goals while playing for University.
