Footy fans have torn an AFLW star to shreds for a ‘tone deaf’ move following North Melbourne’s grand final triumph.

Footy fans have torn AFLW player Jess Hosking to shreds for a ‘tone deaf’ move after North Melbourne completed the perfect season, with a Grand Final triumph over the Brisbane Lions on Saturday.

Hosking, who plays for the West Coast Eagles, was at the match and took to the Ikon Park field after full-time.

She took a video of North Melbourne’s celebrations before panning to show Brisbane’s players looking despondent as they gathered around on the side of the pitch watching the Kangaroos toast the victory.

Bizarrely, she opted to upload it to TikTok with ‘Winners vs. losers’ on the screen and captioned it ‘AFLW GF scenes’.

The post was met with a negative reaction, with fans criticising Hosking for her “tone deaf post”.

“Pretty tone deaf post,” one commented.

“Good way to promote AFLW by calling the second-best team in the comp losers,” another said.

“Don’t love this,” a third wrote.

Hosking did not feature in the 2025 AFLW season, with the midfielder stepping away to deal with personal issues.

The 29-year-old has been spending much of her time back in Victoria.

Her video took some of the shine off what was a memorable triumph by the Kangaroos.

North Melbourne completed a perfect 15-game season to take the AFLW grand final.

In the third straight grand final between the two teams, the Kangaroos produced their 27th straight win, defeating the Lions by 40 points – 9.2 (56) to 2.4 (16) – to become the first team in AFLW history to win back-to-back flags.
