AFL Round 8 teams: Alex Rance returns, Daniel Wells in doubt plus SuperCoach chat

MICHAEL Barlow and Toby Greene are out while Alex Rance and Dylan Grimes return for Richmond and Travis Cloke misses out again.

SOME big names have returned and been dropped ahead of Round 8.

Alex Rance, Taylor Adams, Travis Varcoe, Sam Mitchell, Ted Richards are some of the stars to get recalled.

Meanwhile Michael Barlow and Zac Dawson have been dropped by Fremantle and GWS have rested Toby Greene.

Matthew Pavlich has also been rested while Cyril Rioli has withdrawn with a family illness.

Rance’s return from suspension comes just in time for Richmond with in-form Swan Lance Franklin waiting on Saturday night.

The Tigers are set to be bolstered by two key defenders with Rance and Dylan Grimes (hamstring) set to face high-flying Sydney at the MCG.

Captain Trent Cotchin was in line to return from a fractured cheekbone but failed to get the all-clear from club medicos.

The Magpies have been decimated by injury this season and have now lost Ben Reid for the must-win clash against the Lions.

However, Nathan Buckley regains Taylor Adams and Travis Varcoe.

At North Melbourne, Daniel Wells has been rested with a corked calf and Michael Firrito is being “managed”.
