Darcy Moore met with specialists on Tuesday about a wrist issue, with the Collingwood captain sporting a cast on his hand just 10 days out from the team’s preliminary final clash.

Moore, 27, consulted experts at the Epworth Hospital on Tuesday and, after managing a tendon issue in his right wrist in recent days, had it put into a cast.

The all-Australian did not train on Tuesday morning.

He had tape on his wrist and thumb in last Thursday night’s qualifying final victory over Melbourne — in which he had 16 disposals and took four marks.

He had trained on Monday afternoon without any taping or brace, but did at one point appear to be in conversation with club medical staff.

It is not anticipated by the club that he is in danger of missing next week’s preliminary final against either GWS or Port Adelaide, but it is hoped that the cast will go some way to settling the tendon problem.

Collingwood players trained on Tuesday morning for almost two hours, with Brayden Maynard in the thick of it just hours before his defining tribunal appearance.

Nick Daicos — who was put through a gruelling running and skills session on Monday afternoon — was spotted briefly around the group with ball in hand but took no part in the session and didn’t complete any running as he looks to fire up in time for next weekend’s preliminary final.

John Noble — who was left out of the team for the qualifying final — and Jack Ginnivan, who was the sub, both trained hard in hopes of forcing their way back into the starting 22 while Tom Mitchell finished training apart from the main group.

Mitchell was joined by Jordan De Goey as they completed some run-throughs separately, while the rest of the team trained on.

De Goey rejoined his teammates for some goal kicking after the main session but Mitchell headed to the rooms.
