Crystal ball: News Corp footy experts make their predictions ahead of the 2020 season

Richmond is hot favourite to win another premiership in 2020 but 12 of the Herald Sun’s footy experts are predicting another team to pinch the cup, including one massive boilover tip from ex-Cat Cam Mooney.

Who will win the Brownlow?

Will it be the year of the Tiger again in 2020 or can interstate raiders West Coast or GWS spoil the Punt Rd party?

What about the Demons? Will they be wooden spooners — or win the flag, like one of our experts has predicted.

Richmond are the most popular pick to go back-to-back with seven of our 19 tipsters picking them to win the flag, but 10 believe the cup could be headed interstate with West Coast (6) and GWS (4) popular.

There’s a stark contrast in the wooden spoon, with every tipster picking Gold Coast to finish on the bottom. The poor Suns.

At least the experts fancy their young guns, with No. 1 pick Matt Rowell (6) and second-year Izak Rankine (6) deadlocked as the favourites for the Rising Star

It’s Patrick Cripps (7) v Marcus Bontempelli (6) for the Brownlow, while it’s a landslide victory for Tom Lynch in the Coleman. The big fella’s had a massive pre-season by all reports and 13 of the 19 tipsters believe he will lead the competition’s goalkicking list in his second year at Richmond.
