ONE of Lauderdale’s boom 2020 signings has returned to Victoria and will take no part in the club’s finals campaign.
Midfielder Adrian Kalcovski, who was on Collingwood’s VFL list prior to the season being shut down due to COVID-19, flew home to Victoria yesterday after having surgery to repair a broken nose earlier in the week.
He suffered the injury during the Bombers’ big win over semi-final opponent Launceston in round 10 and missed the club’s last three games.
Coach Darren Winter was hopeful the star recruit could postpone surgery until the end of the season but the risk of further complications forced Kalcovski to go under the knife and bring a premature end to his time in Tasmania.
Lauderdale has been forced into one change for the trip to Windsor Park, with youngster Fergus Kenny recalled for Will Francis, who will miss with concussion.
Launceston will take two recognised ruckmen into the showdown, with Tim Auckland returning and joining Joe Groenewegen in the side.
Coach Mitch Thorp also comes in for Sam Foley and Bowen Pearce.
Clarence regains key defender Keegan Wylie from injury as it faces the gigantic task of stopping the North Launceston juggernaut at UTAS Stadium.
Wylie missed the Roos’ last roster match last weekend but has passed a fitness test, with teenager Colby Whitelaw making way.
The Bombers have loaded up on forward-line firepower, with Tom Bennett and Bart McCulloch among four inclusions.
However young gun Jackson Callow looks set to miss after only being named as an emergency alongside premiership player Zac Burt.
