US politics live: Court case of Trump foe dismissed

One - and possibly two - of the court cases against his foes that Donald Trump pushed hard to happen have been dismissed in spectacular fashion.

A court case against Donald Trump critic James Comey - pushed hard by Mr Trump himself- has collapsed in spectacular fashion after all charges were dropped.

Peace talks between Ukraine and the US regarding a 28-point peace plan, that has been seen to be favourable to Russia, have concluded.

US President Donald Trump was positive about the talks. “Is it really possible that big progress is being made?”

But Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelensky says he still has to look at the revisions.

A counter peace proposal from Europe has already been rubbished as “completely unconstructive” by a senior Russian official illustrating the continuing issues with bridging the gap.

Meanwhile, there are reports a “new phase” of the US’ campaign against Venezuela could start within days.

A large military build-up by the US has occurred off the coast of Venezuela.
