Brave Princess Catherine ‘planning public appearances’ after cancer treatment

The Princess of Wales is planning her upcoming public appearances, according to sources. Here are the key dates.

Princess Catherine is ‘planning a royal comeback and has specific dates in mind’, after undergoing cancer treatment, royal sources have claimed.

The Princess of Wales, 42, has been very selective with her public appearances since announcing her cancer diagnosis in March this year.

She looked resplendent at Trooping the Colour in June for King Charles’ official birthday, and graced the men’s Wimbledon final the following month, which she attended with daughter Princess Charlotte.

In June, Kate released a health update via video message in which she revealed she was “making good progress”, but bravely revealed she had “good days and bad days” and shared how she is “not out of the woods yet”, and said treatment is “ongoing and will be for a few more months”.

The Sun reports sources close to the royal claim this “still rings true”.

It is understood Kate will not be attending a trip with Prince William to Cape Town in November for the Earthshot Prize awards.

And while there is no confirmed return date to public duties, sources say Princess Catherine’s comeback is at the forefront of her mind, particularly if she continues to have more “good days” than bad.

And, despite taking a step back from public facing responsibilities, Kate has continued with work behind the scenes.

According to royal sources, the mum-of-three has been conducting more meetings at home, Adelaide Cottage.

It is understood the Princess of Wales has set her sights on “potentially” joining King Charles and the royal family at the Cenotaph for the National Service of Remembrance on November 10.

Additionally, royal aides reported plans are already underway for the Princess’ annual Together at Christmas televised carol service at Westminster Abbey.

The Sun reports the royal has been spending more time with her private secretary Tom White, assistant private secretary Natalie Burrows and the Waleses’ communications secretary, Lee Thompson.

It is thought the boost in communication is to make plans for Kate’s potential comeback.

The Prince and Princess of Wales - along with Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six - are said to have spent the summer break at their Norfolk country home.

Last week Kate was spotted heading to church with Prince William and Prince George in Balmoral in Scotland.

It comes as Princess Catherine publicly welcomed the new UK chief Scout taking the time to support an organisation close to her heart despite he ongoing cancer battle.

The 42-year-old future queen tweeted about the appointment of explorer Dwayne Fields to role which he takes over from fellow explorer Bear Grylls.

“Delighted to welcome @DwayneFields as the new UK Chief Scout. The Scouts is such an incredible organisation, teaching #SkillsForLife and making a huge difference to young people across the country. Looking forward to working with you!” the Princess wrote signalling it was a personal message by signing off with her initial “C”.

Kate is the joint president of Scouts – an honour she share’s with the late Queen Elizabeth’s cousin the Duke of Kent.

The public interaction is just the latest in a string of forays back into public life since she was seen in June at Trooping the Colour for the first time since her diagnosis last year.

The princess attended her beloved Wimbledon to present the mens’ singles trophies in July and shared a photos of her eldest child Prince George for his birthday days later.

Then she joined a ruggedly handsome William who sported a dashing beard in a video posted to their royal social media accounts in August cheering on Team Great Britain in the Olympics.

She also ventured to a church service at Crathie Kirk, near the royal family’s Balmoral Estate last month.

The flurry of interactions over the past three months, both in person and online, are in stark contrast to the radio silence which followed her cancer diagnosis.

Last seen on Christmas Day, Princess Catherine vanished for the next six months save only for a video she released in March where she appeared looking gaunt and exhausted to explain she had been battling cancer.

While the palace has remained adamant Princess Catherine has not returned to royal duties, monarchists hope to see an increasing amount of their beloved Kate as the year goes on.
