There’s ‘something wrong’ with Biden: Trump

Donald Trump has said the potential use of nuclear weapons is a greater threat tot he world than climate change

In his first TV interview since his arraignment, Mr Trump told journalist Tucker Carlson nuclear weapons are “the single greatest threat” the world faces.

“When I listened to people talking about global warming that the ocean will rise in the next 300 years by one eighth of an inch and they talk about this as our problem, our big problem is nuclear warming which nobody even talks about it,” Mr Trump said.

“The biggest problem we have in the whole world, it’s not global warming, it’s nuclear warming. And all it takes is one madman, and you’re gonna have a problem the likes of which the world has never seen,” he said.

The former president claimed China is five years away from having similar nuclear capabilities to the US, while Russia’s nuclear arsenal that could do “500 times” more damage than what Japan’s Hiroshima and Nagasaki sustained during World War II.

“And it’s only a matter of seconds, you’re not gonna wait two to 300 years for it to happen,” Trump said.

He also referred to nuclear as “the N-word,” during the interview.

“You have two N-words, you don’t mention either one of them. The nuclear word you don’t mention, because the power is so disruptive.”

Mr Trump has revealed he would “never drop out” of the election race, regardless of the outcome of criminal charges against him.

He also weighed in on whether he thought Joe Biden was fit for another run at the nation’s top job and how staff at the Manhattan courthouse were “crying” and apologising to him as he was arraigned.

Mr Trump said that attending the courthouse was like “prison in a sense”.

“They signed me in and, I’ll tell you, people were crying. People that work there, professionally work there, that have no problems putting in murderers, and they see everybody. It’s a tough, tough place. And they were crying, actually crying. They said ‘I’m sorry’,” Mr Trump said in an interview for the Tucker Carlson Tonight show, which aired on Tuesday night (local time).

Mr Trump entered a plea of not guilty to 34 counts of falsifying business records during his court appearance last week.

During the TV interview, which was filmed at Mar-A-Lago, Mr Trump took a longwinded approach in responding to a question about what he would do if a trial was to proceed and he was convicted during the middle of the election campaign.

“I’ve been through seven years of bulls**t investigations ... They shouldn’t be looking at my taxes. I was surprised the Supreme Court gave them the right. They shouldn’t be looking – that’s sort of another one of the tenants, you don’t do that. But I didn’t care that much. On principle I fought them. I’ve built a great company. When you do the things that I do, and you employ thousands and thousands of people over the years ... I’ve done a great job and then I ran for President. People were surprised that I won ...”

After five minutes, Carlson asked him again, if he was convicted, would he drop out of the presidential race.

“I’d never drop out. I’d never drop out. It’s not my thing, I wouldn’t do it,” he finally answered.

When asked about whether Joe Biden would stay in the 2024 race, Mr Trump responded that “I don’t think he can” and “there’s something wrong” with the current President.

“I don’t see him doing it from a physical or mental sense,” he said.

Mr Trump also took aim at Vice President Kamala Harris, saying “I don’t think she’s performed well on the big stage”.
