Charlie Kirk’s memorial live updates: Erika Kirk’s heartbreaking hand symbol alongside Donald Trump

A brief hand gesture on stage, from Charlie Kirk’s wife, almost went unnoticed. It conveyed a heartwrenching message.

Tens of thousands of Americans have paid their respects to conservative activist and broadcaster Charlie Kirk at a well-attended memorial service in Arizona.

President Donald Trump and several members of his cabinet were present at the event, along with Mr Kirk’s widow, Erika.

In a moving speech, Mrs Kirk said she would forgive the man who killed her husband.

Mr Kirk, 31, was fatally shot in the neck on September 10 while speaking at a Utah university as part of his popular public debate series.

Chief suspect Tyler Robinson, 22, was arrested after a 33-hour manhunt. Prosecutors in the case have said the intend to seek the death penalty.
