Woman’s face slashed with broken glass in Alice Springs

A 20-year-old Alice Springs woman is being treated after a broken glass was used to slash her face. Read what happened.

A 20-year-old Alice Springs woman was allegedly slashed in the face with a broken glass during an incident on Barret Drive early on Sunday morning.

Police said they received a report around 2.45am on Sunday that the 20-year-old was involved in an altercation with three other females, when a fourth woman allegedly knocked her to the ground.

Police said offenders then repeatedly assaulted the woman, with one allegedly attacking her with a broken glass, resulting in a significant laceration to the victim’s face.

Police and St John Ambulance attended, with the victim being treated at the sceene bfore being conveyed to Alice Springs hospital.

The offenders remain at large while investigations continue.
